Sorry, but people saying Maloney is useless might want to have another look. He played well at the Warriors (almost unheard of - everyone who goes there kills their career normally). Won a comp at the Roosters and has played very well, played Origin, and is a top goal kicker. Yes he isn't the best defender in the world, but neither is Thurston, nor was Lockyer etc etc - this can be managed, and well, it hasn't exactly hurt the Roosters yet has it?
I'd be after Elgey and Maloney. Young bright prospect coupled with someone experienced who can take on the line and ball play. I'd go after Tom Burgess and Dylan Napa (if Dylan isn't locked up yet), and I'd bring through Jake T now and start to develop him into the top grade. I'd like to bring in an experienced back rower who still has 2 good years left in them, but I doubt there are many options here other than Corey Parker, but he'd be 33 next year, so probably not.
As some have mentioned, I'd also sound out S Burgess to see if there was any truth to the rumour he isn't loving rugby and might want back in the NRL. This would mean we wouldn't get Napa and would need to shed a few (which we could - Horo, Hasson, Mason). However, this scenario is highly unlikely.
