I do get your point and it is frustrating, mainly when you see certain other clubs recruiting stars willy-nilly.
Marty and Dylan Walker, in 2016, are the only genuine big names we've lured since signing Jamie Lyon for 2007. (And Dylan was cut-price after his OD episode and Souths letting him go)
I presume our strategy, as it is for most clubs, is to build around a few top quality players by developing and improving the other players, and for those who can't improve, selectively replacing them with better players bit by bit over 2 or 3 years.
That's how Des did it with Manly initially.
Not his fault of course, but having Turbo hurt so much in recent years has really hurt us.
