If you say “ the coach has lost the dressing room, according to the XYZ story on the Sydney Morning Herald “ then you are referencing a source.

I doubt any of us here is truly connected enough to be sprouting off some of **** I read.

By the way , the coach may well have lost the dressing room but until we have a player , the CEO , the owner coming out and saying that what gets written on here is purely a rehash of some journo’s opinion , or your own personal opinion.

Which everyone is entitled to , but please add , “ on my opinion “.

DCE seemed to have no problem with Barrett as a coach though?

My opinion - DCE could pretty much pull rank on Barrett ( there were plenty of games that it looked like the senior players abandoned the gameplan and we looked way better, even remember a game where Brandy commented on that ).

Seibold being the academic seems inflexible in deviating from his "learnings" so DCE and Turbo etc are less inclined to pull rank.

You can't tell me that the way we played v the Broncos was the gameplan when compared to the way we've played the bulk of the season.
There was more grubber kicks in that game than rest of the season combined, no mindless uncontested bombs to the opposition winger etc
That's just one observation.
Did DCE and the boys go rogue?

Why was that gameplan so vastly different and less structured than when we played Parra, Knights, Titans regardless of personnel?
If l can see it, surely other coaches know it too, it's like the gameplan is devised with no thought that the opposition will counter it.

DCE admitted to going against the gameplan already this year... Against the Warriors. That was the game where DCE and Tom kept trying to shift it, literally every set. DCE admitted that it didn't work, and it was on him.

I believe that when DCE goes against the script, he starts doing all the trick plays. I tend to think that Seibold wants him to play more of a management/good kicking role, hence us replacing him with Fogarty. Might be a reason why DCE is (possibly) pissed off at him.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the second Flanno moves on Siebs inability to coach a first grade squad gets highlighted. We don’t necessarily have to get a Manly boy in to coach us but we do need someone who is passionate about our club.

Umm,the season Flanagan moved on,Manly made the finals and Flanagan has not improved the Dragons

If the Panthers and Broncos lose this weekend, then we are back in the Top 8... We were outside the Top 8 at the same point last year.

Interesting what this implies in regards to the DCE situation.

The Seibold extension happened last year.

DCE didn’t extend after that.

Given the Weidler narrative is that the club never offered DCE an extension until they rang NRL360 live on air the same night DCE made his declaration on 100% Footy in March this year, (which I believe is a ridiculous claim), then how could DCE have had the option to refuse to extend prior to that (last year)?

Yeah, along with the "We should have kept Des" narrative, can we also stop the "We kept the wrong coach" narrative around Flanagan? It's not like he's lifted St George to dizzying heights since he left.

The thing is though, he wasn't being replaced until he said he was done.
He was here for life, yet now he's not.

Then quote that source , I understand a name should not be mentioned but you could easily say “ as told to me by a member of the current football department “ OR “ as told to me by one of the major sponsors “ .

That adds great credibility.

A source , could be the cousin , of the cleaner , who vacuum’s the floor after each training session , but is that “ reliable “.??

I have zero ( and have said that many times ) contact within in the club these days so my comments are purely option based.

This is a forum , we are all entitled to an opinion but comments like “ $CE has already signed with the Roosters “ should be prefaced , “ in my opinion the deal has already been done”.
