When the front office is going well it helps
What it appears from a distance is that mestrov and seibs are the only 2 people on the footy planet thus far that have lasted more than 15 minutes with Penn
I think these 2 give us a consistent approach. Didnt say i like it

Just dont want to get too hasty and have another high turnover in head office and coaching and lose all our best players in the turmoil as well snd still be here in 5 years

There are enough shoots for him to remain in 26 with the youth recruitment. Be honest we wont sack and pay and recruit big anyway. Its the nature of the beast if case that been missed

It seems to me we are in many cases destined middle roaders due to the overall investment in money, people, standards , and lack of football club mentality. You have to cheat……within the rules

im prepared to see how they go with the fog and a leadership clean out first for next year. Fogerty wont transform us but he will drive us through games and give players a consistent approach

We are also doing a qld , injecting a new half, removing a broken one
Adding a new captain and leader in one move . Its big

But , Can someone in the club make a rule about length of contracts while at it. Faaaark me they are paranoid about retention

Maybe im just used to this shipshow

The fact we can't consistently work to the red zone and bomb for Saab on the tryline where he's going to out jump 12/10 wingers and score 7/5 times is just criminal.

Does seibs not see it?
Not getting sets in the red zone falls back on the halves kicking game and our inability to make post contact hitup meters and offloads.

The odds of Seibold being sacked this year with a two year payout, I’d say , diddly squat.

Love him , loathe him , absolutely hate the ground he walks on , is your choice, but I very much doubt this budget run enterprise will take that step.

Im simply telling it how I think it’ll be handled by Scott Penn, not how it “ should “ according to most fans.

Mr Fluffy , aka “ Tightarse “ will not want to piss circa 2 million ( probably less than that ) down the drain, and that’s all he’ll care about.

So brace yourselves, because in 2026, “ he’ll be back “.

Unless they have clauses in his contract, which mine and many other sources have stated,he does. They have also paid out the past two coaches,so it obviously isn’t something the Penn’s aren’t afraid of

As stated in the other thread earlier today, Dean Ritchie stated in this mornings paper that “Seibold has the support of those in power at Brookvale and will certainly be in charge again next season.”

I don't know what on earth changed between last year and this year, but we seemingly have zero consistent attacking shapes now. We had a great variation occuring between Brooks and Turbo last year, and in particular, DCE had some excellent plays involving Garrick and Saab. I don't believe there has been a single DCE cutout pass to Saab this year... I don't know how, but there hasn't been. Hence, teams aren't compensating for it with spacing anymore.

The coaching department has not changed. I don't think a coaching department can simply forget how to create attacking shapes. Last year we had some of the best in the NRL. Now we seem absolutely devoid of anything.

It looks like Brooks is back at the Tigers. I've said a few times, that Brooks is a barometer for the team. Team goes well, he's confident to play his game. Team goes poorly, he ends up in his Tigers shell. For whatever reason, he's unable to play his natural game anymore. He's playing like the garbage makeshift organiser with zero creativity that he once was, which says to me that there is a lack of direction from elsewhere in the team.

Whatever has occured, there's been an interruption between the creation, and the execution.

I have a feeling that Seibold is keeping his job, because DCE's influence goes further than the eye test, and those 'in the know' may think that way. Remember, DCE is the one actively commanding the team's shapes on the field. Go back to what Koula said about the brilliant try he scored against the Panthers. DCE apparently called for this brilliantly coached and crafted attacking play, but didn't execute it when the game was on the line. This brilliant play was instead called for once we had already clearly won...

Where DCE once had direction, I see ever more the influence and control needing to come from the fullback position. Vs Broncos, DCE had an excellent instinctual kicking game. During this game, DCE puts on a classic kick for Brown to score. Like the commentators, I thought "what great sight from DCE". Check the background replay, and you'll see that Hopoate is the one who called for a kick. Not DCE.

It might be a stretch to say that this has held back Turbo and Hoppa into being more conservative, in the same manner as it has certainly held back Brooks, but it would not surprise me.

There's no way in hell his form can drop off in such a noticeable way from '24 to '25. It's not as apparent to non-Manly fans in the media, but it is incredibly apparent to me. It's like watching two different players. Watch his highlights in Townsville last year, and ask yourself if he has shown anything close to what he did in that game, in the entirety of this year?

Sure, DCE has always had a shotgun mentality, and that has been a pitfall. But has he ever been so devoid of ideas like he is now? I simply cannot believe it.

I will be very keen to see what is revealed about what occured between DCE and management in this off-season. I don't think it is just money. I think there is an underlying current that has affected our season. Call me conspiratorial if you will.

I expect sponsorship/optic reasons may be the reason why DCE was never dropped as captain. I'm sure as hell that many called from it within the club.

What I would like to know is how club legend Des had performance clauses in his contract.
That is why he was terminated, by not making the finals.

Yet, we have Spoony with zero offers elsewhere apparently given a 2 year extension with no team performance clauses?
WTF

if this the gift from Mestrov in being best man?
