Not what I said.
Being a thing in the US is not the same as a US thing.

Your post is nonsense.
What? Didn't you write that not holding players accountable in the media is a thing in America? I then suggested that most other NRL coaches don't subscribe to that approach and mustn't be caught up in the psycho semantics of US sport. Anyway, I wasn't shaving a crack at you but whatever.

Great, now I'm picturing you shaving his crack 🤦🏻‍♂️

It's not what he says, it's how he says it. Look at Bennett, Bellamy, Stuart, even Robinson.

Now look at Seibold. ZERO authenticity. That doesn't change when he walks into a dressing room. A fake is a fake is a fake.
Funny you say that ….i asked an ex nrl and rep player who’s a mate what he thought of siebold as a coach…his exact words were…fake it till you make it.

Puff piece written by Brent Read who is best mates with Seibold and at the time campaigned for him to get the job.

It is a farce but not surprising that Penn is backing him. I'm sorry but the injury excuse is sickening. Most of the players we have out injured are no good anyway. It is funny how these injured players become better players when they are injured.

Paseka and Olakau'atu are the big outs the others bring little to nothing to the table.

Anyway Mestrov has been very quiet and I'm hearing he will be leaving.

I'm with others I'm losing my passion it is not the losses it is the excuse making we have gone from it is a "results driven business" to "on our day we can compete"

We have gone from a top 4 team to blaming the schedule to blaming the dce circus (we could and should have sacked him after that tv appearance) to blaming injuries.

The truth is we have at best an average squad with our best players past their best. Tom is never going to be who he was Jake should retire for his own health. Croker should do the same, Aloai is retiring.

There are others who should be moved on but no clubs would want even if we chipped in.

We are also coached by an average to poor coach.

I see very little upside yes we have some good young kids but will they get the coaching that they deserve to become the players we need them to be?

And if we do happen to jag a few of our own good kids come through, how long before the big clubs come knocking with much better opportunities.

You know how I can tell he’s not invested in the club - not on a level like the fans? Because he said as much. He recently said he only wants to coach for a year or two more. He wants to move on - do other things. Does that sound like a coach that’s invested in even the idea of coaching as a career, let alone invested in this club.
Personally think too much is made about this. Coaching is brutal and he has already gone through the wringer once before. I’d go as far as to say if any coach didn’t have a Plan B that would be crazy - they have families and they are often the primary bread winner, so need to think long term. I interpreted his comments as a guy who is interested in whole of club happenings, not just coaching.

I have other things I want to achieve in my career on top of what I’m doing now. My job is pretty stressful (at times), relatively senior and requires sacrifice like I’m sure many others on here. I don’t think the fact there are other things I want to achieve or try in my career impacts my performance or devotion to what I’m doing currently. In fact, it might actually help as success in my current job will put me in a better position to do the other things I want to do in the future.

I’m not defending Seibs as a coach, I just don’t think his comments mean much overall.

I can tell you all what's wrong with Manlys defence. Discipline, especially from a very senior foreward. Giving away 6 agains too much from lying all over players, not getting up quick enough, being offside, honestly, the players are exhausted from too much defensive work. Clean up the stupid stuff and watch the results change.

When Siebs stops saying he's proud of the boys after getting flogged and instead shows disgust when they throw away big leads, I'll then take him seriously as a coach.

As I said, I’m not defending him as a coach. I’m just don’t think much of the comments about him being interested in other roles in a football club.

In saying that, I don’t really care either what he says in a press conference. Talk is cheap. What matters in onfield performance, which we all agree has been putrid the last couple of weeks (and at other times during the season too).

They are all very senior forwards, aren't they?

should have kept flanno, he wouldn’t have tolerated the **** we’re dishing up, he’s got the merge playing well and would have been in the 8 if not for some close losses.

damn what a wasted opportunity.
Flanno is a much better coach. But at the time when Seibs was appointed, Flanno was damaged goods. No club at the time was interested in him as a head coach, and while we could have sacked Seibold after 1 season in charge to appoint Flanno full time, that would have been bizarre (even for Manly)!
