And you were right to.
How exactly? If he now agrees that Seibs needs to go then he is inadvertently admitting he was wrong and the coach needs to go. It's okay to be wrong and to recognise the fact than to be wrong and forever live in denial. Seibs needs to go full stop and those who have called for this have been justified in doing so. There has been a lot of mud slinging and name calling around this issue.

Particularly from the super fans who were calling for Seibs to get another crack.

Go for Andrew Johns. His input at Newcastle in recent years has made a huge difference to them also. @:D@:D@:D
John’s is a commentator these days
He was actually on our coaching staff the last time we made a Grand Final back in 2013!
Not trying to create negativity within the Sea Eagles supporters fraternity, but surely we can do better than we have in the last 12 years moving forward
Owners will clearly not pay the coin for High End Premiership winning options so what are our options
The last success we had was when the great Max Delmege got rid of Peter Sharpe and gave a young Des Hasler a shot who narrowly missed our first spoon initially only to coach us to 3 grand final appearances and winning two. The third was stripped from Melbourne
If the Walker Bros fit the bill, happy to try them as it has to better than what we have and I don’t financially see a better alternative

The senior players did not look like they were putting in 100%. Could this be tied into what is being rumoured about the Trojevic boys and DCE not rating Seibs as a coach? There is certainly a lot of smoke around the subject with questions either directly or indirectly being asked around this subject. I guess a version of the truth will eventually come out.

August 15... Andrew Johns.....Nine.com.au

Andrew Johns believes Anthony Seibold still has "something to offer" as Manly coach, despite rumours suggesting he could be on his way out of the club.

Seibold's tenure has been up and down since arriving at the Sea Eagles, missing the finals in 2023 before being eliminated in the second week of the 2024 playoffs.

What’s the source for this starting-to-become-oft-repeated rumour that DCE said Seibold can’t coach/DCE & Seibold had a falling out?
No source other than DCE's sly little announcement, I think. People were always going to take "I'll play for anyone next year but Manly" as a crack at the Manly coach and organisation. Seems to have become accepted wisdom from there.

Oh - and he didn't invite Seibold to his wedding.

So there’s actually no source & is simply someone’s speculation over DCE’s announcement?

Maybe DCE’s just dirty on the club because they didn’t grant him an early release pre-2024 season to take up a huge Rooster’s contract? Then they brought Watmough back into the fold, adding insult to injury?

Also, what’s the source on the Turbos not rating Seibold as a coach, because I can see that rumour’s starting to grow legs with the usual suspects now too?

The Walker Brothers myth keeps growing every year and is gaining Loch Ness Monster scale in size.

In past weeks I've argued against sacking Seibold before the end of the season.

I've changed my mind.
I’m in the same boat. Today was breaking point. I don’t mind when we try and get beaten by a better side but I know enough about football now to see when coaching is part of the problem. He’s recruited the wrong type of footballer (dumb) and we keep persisting with this sideways attack with block shapes and it’s stupid.
