Interesting Holbrook comes well credentialled having a 33% success ratio for the Gold Coast, that said he did coach them to 8th place in 2021 and didn't get a spoon. It is also a whopping 2% better than Trent Barrett. On the plus he does have an 80%+ success rate in the ESL.

Seibold currently sitting at 47%
Brad Arthur achieved 52% at Parra and is sitting @ 63% at Leeds.
Josh Hannay is also impressive having coached 30 NRL games @ 37% and 46 QRL games at 39%.

Lets be careful what we wish for.

Has Tooves lost currency in coaching in the modern game. He sits better than all these guys. Take the 2015 season away and he would be sitting at around 60% with 2015 he finished with a 58% success rate.

Stats can make for interesting conclusions if taken in isolation.

Ivan Cleary had a win ratio of 47% from the 319 NRL games he coached before 2020... a lower win rate than Seibold has currently. Then he won 78% of all games since, taking the Panthers to a Grand final, followed by 4 premierships in a row. His overall win rate is now 58%.

Does it mean he was just an average coach before 2020, or was just he doing the best he could with the more modest squads he had? The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

For the same reason I wouldn't rule out Holbrook based on his record at the Titans... he was replaced with Des who has not done a better job there.
