Sack the Spoon

Can't blame Siebold too much for that loss. Losing Hoppa and the short turnaround from the Broncos match were the two big factors I think.
Lol. You have got to be kidding right? You Spoon lovers are always saying we can't compete when we have no forwards. Now, when we play a team without a single prop who lose their best middle at the start of the game, YOU ARE SERIOUSLY GOING TO SAY WE WERE DISADVANTAGED MORE THAN THEY WERE? What a joke. The coach needed to identify they were gone through middle third as was clear in the Talau try and Tolu's run. He kept them playing Spoon ball and we paid a price.

I have felt DCE gets over criticised at times, but tonight his poor decisions really changed the game
Most are claiming the 40/20 as a turning point and rightfully so as a killer in that 2nd half.
But I go back to 1 minute out from half time....Manly up 16 - 0 and attacking the Newcastle try line
Just after Haumole had stampeded 3 players for a try from 10m out....DCE had the opportunity with a 1 on 1 for Haumole from 5m out but elected a low percentage cross field kick to Faulolo which went dead on the full.
I can't guarantee a try , but we were running through them with ease and this is big Haumole 5m out with 1 defender in his way ??
This imo was a Massive start of the rot and gave that "we may regret this moment " cloud floating overhead the remainder of the game till that painful ending.
On Seibold, he deserves to be roasted along with the players, they came out soft and got ambushed that second half and playing sideways was what Newcastle would have preyed for....the lack of direct the last 40 was terrible and this does come back to gameplan, with Seibold and DCE the keys in this valuable area of the game management

Yep. We really should have smashed those b*stards straight up the middle. Made Ponga and the halves do 30 tackles each. Instead we started thinking about trick shots.

It’s a shame Cogger plays on the left for them, Quac run at him all night, Sharpe on the other hand got a hall pass and he was always the one we had to run traffic at, he cut us up in the second half, if we had a coach that could put together a game plan and a captain that could make sure we execute it, maybe we’d have a chance, how we lost that game from 16 nil up against that side is disgraceful, thanks for destroying my weekend.

I think we lost that game in the first half - I was livid when DCE tried that trick shot kick. We should have been up by 20 to 30 at HT and grinding them into the dirt. I think our halfback was trying to show off for Origin - which shows where his head is. Our execution was as bad as the Knights it's just they were abysmal. Seibold should have given them a Bellamy type spray at HT but I bet he didn't. The slowness of our forwards is on him. Why pick Waddle (correct spelling) week after week? Navale at least has some leg speed. Burbo is failed centre replacement a number of times now - Bullemor or Haumole have more pace than him

Perfect if obvious analysis. This is a weak team mentally with a **** forward pack and a halfback who can’t close. It’s that simple
No amount of Levi’s , Tommy’s and Koulas will overcome that.

Ease up on what your taking.

Lost for words or proud of the team?

For a decade long 1.3 million dollar player DCE is a fraud at club level. Sure he is brilliant at times … but in the end delivers nothing a player on that much money should.
To think he was paid the same as Cleary and more than Munster, Hughes and the like is astonishing in a “ results driven business”
I reckon he has very erratic game management in comparison to Hughes, Cleary ect
Like Tonight playing low percentage plays and truck shots, like we were chasing points, where we needed to bash them into submission down their end
I still rate DCR a gifted player and his highlight reel would look spectacular, but his ability to control a game has always been his Achilles heel and I can't see that changing....making his combination with Brooks a little shaky for, 2 halves with so much experience.
Fogarty may not be as flashy, but I feel he would have done a better job at closing out a game like tonight
Sure his Raiders caved in against a quality Dogs team earlier this season, but I doubt a down on their luck 2nd rate Newcastle side would have come back from 16 down
