They've long been a club everyone loves to hate and now Manly are drawing the ire of rivals on a new battleground.

Angry western Sydney clubs have gone to the NSWRL to voice their frustration over the Sea Eagles' recruitment of under-age players from their catchment areas and now they are ready to take action themselves in an effort to thwart the raiding of their rich junior nurseries.

More anti Manly drivel from the SMH. Obviously News Corp don't have a monopoly on bull****. So two and a half NRL clubs are allegedly complaining, Parramatta who've signed every Manly player they could get in recent years, the Dogs who signed Hasler and TRex (thanks fellas) and Western Suburbs who are irrelevant.Big scoop Chris Barrett, you wanker.

Then look after your juniors in the biggest junior catchment in the world and you won't have a problem.
While you're at it, sign up some decent recruitment managers.
The tigers need look no further than Hayne and falou to realise how inept they are and the parasites, well.......open season on those grubs.
A Manly supporters favourite symphony is playing.
That is the moaning of opposition clubs and supporters.
Beautiful !!

It's alright with Phil Gould and if it's alright with Phil Gould it's alright with me.

This is exactly what happened with the foultns and beacon Hill.

The article talks about western Sydney like it is one place or a country town. In reality it is an incoherent mess of highly populated suburbs, and a few cities, many of which are significantly isolated from one another. People and players are in reality highly mobile.

Parramatta were signing our juniors like no tomorrow a few years ago.
Jamil Hopoate, Joey Lussick, Luke Vescio, Blake Harrison were all playing Harold Matts or SG ball for the eels at one stage

Maybe these clubs should take a look at their recruiters and their own so-called experts as to why those players were snapped up by other clubs (of which Manly is probably only one of a few) instead of doing more to retain the players.

Its funny how these clubs are happy to let juniors go because they don't think will make it, then complain about it when they thrive at another club.

How dare Manly give kids a chance that are from outside our locality. It would be interesting to look at the facts of each club and where they source their juniors. What a pathetic article, written by a rag that really has run out of ideas. I love the hate, as soon as we look like being successful we get this, good sign!!

Bull**** article by a bull**** artist. Can't say about bringing in kids under 13 but our Mathews side was built on guys unwanted by western clubs,FF Mau was playing with Western Sydney academy not Tigers,Fifita was not signed to any club and a schoolboy,Matangi was unsigned by anyone(previously with Panthers),Weekes was playing rugby(previously with penrith),Turner was from central coast,Tuipulotu was unwanted,Moger was unwanted(previously with penrith),Umu came from Perth,Biddle came from cabramatta and unwanted.Hooker Birt is from south coast same as Cooper Wood,Latu came from blacktown in 2016,the rest are largely locals.

Their papers are selling at a slower rate after their breaking news articles regarding our betting scandal, followed by the salary cap scandal so the big bosses have requested a new Manly bashing article to boost profits.

In the same article it mentions the Roosters signing 4 players from cabramatta but lets just blame Manly. How many local juniors have come from the Eastern Suburbs that are currently featuring in the Roosters NRL side?

I love it when we are hated, means we are doing something right!!! @

you should see how it is up here in newcastle, wests have an overflow of kids in some year groups while other teams struggle to fill their squad. there are kids travelling from the other side of the lake to train & play there.
over 20 years ago i can remember them trying to convince a team mate to leave his club & play for them, offering free transport to training & games if needed, in under 13's!
now they have bought the wooden spooners they will only be more dominant.
