Seibold presser ..

Storm's Jack Howarth another one, dislocated shoulder in R7, decided to rehab instead of season-ending operation, returned in R13 and (so far) has not re-injured it.
Yes but you seem to think it's a one size fits all type of situation whereby every dislocation has a 90% chance of recurring which isn't true. For starters, Howarth doesn't require future surgery and was only expected to be sidelined for a month. Very different to playing a guy who did require future surgery and expecting him to get through two months of football in the hopes of making the finals. Gambling he will be the one in ten guy who somehow pulls it off. Not to mention the possibility of him doing even more serious damage to the shoulder which is a distinct possibility.

If we were playing to get into a Prelim or GF then I could understand it. Bellamy no doubt would make that choice if Hughes gets back for finals. Cronk for the Chooks, Cleary for the Panthers. All very different to trotting out the big O yesterday with a 90% chance of recurrence.

Are you a sports doctor or shoulder specialist?

No I'm not. But I am prepared to say without hesitation that not all shoulder dislocations are the same. Some require surgery and some don't. Seibs already said that Olakau'atu required end of season surgery and Bellamy stated that Howarth didn't need surgery and would only miss four weeks. The poster I responded to compared Howarth and Ola's injuries as a case in point argument.

So you don’t know the exact details of Olakau’atu’s shoulder injury, or what the potential impact of re-injuring it might be to the shoulder joint, but you’re going all in on Seibold making a massive error in judgement in playing him, when he & the medical staff & Olakau’atu himself would have made the decision based on the information available to them.

Cool 👍

BTW, good to see you back, Biffycomeback 😂
