Seibold Spam

Good to see the culprit of the vast majority of the spam is gone. I was going to disappear from the forum for a while after blocking him, just because this was descending into Facebook territory.

It was only really that one person that was continually sprouted dribble without substance. I know quite a few are also very anti-Seibold, but at least they put some kind of effort behind their posts. I even laugh at a few creative ones, even if I completely disagree with them.

This is a Manly fan forum, that you cannot simply "stumble" across, unlike Facebook groups, r/NRL, etc. Maintaining some civility is important, because this is a dedicated, isolated, community. With toxicity and hatred, no one comes here anymore. The community dies.

I believe this is one of the main reasons a lot of long time posters, have left. They just chat with their mates in person instead, who cannot type messages in bold about HOW MUCH SEIBOLD SUCKS to their faces. That's a much more friendly environment than having some spammer attack you and how stupid you are.

Also, who is Biff? I joined like late 2023, so I presume it's someone from before then.

Not trying to single people out but is anyone else tired of seeing the same 2-3 people spam every single thread with negative propaganda? It all somehow devolves into ‘Spoony needs to be sacked’ lately. I can understand some people might not like him & that’s fair, each to their own.

When we win there’s an excuse that the other team was off their game but when we lose it’s all his fault. After the loss to Newcastle I thought it was quite ironic these individuals were saying Newcastle had no forwards but didn’t once mention we were missing Paseka, Josh A + TKO who are 3 out of our 4 best props… This is just a example but I’m sure most of you know what I’m talking about.

I have no doubt I’ll be called out for accepting mediocrity but I don’t think Seibold has done a bad job so far even if I don’t agree with all his selections (most fans don’t with any coach). As a younger fan I was about 8 years old last time manly won a premiership but i’m happy in the direction the club is travelling & I’m enjoying the highs + lows of the process. We are all passionate & guilty of ‘coaching from the coach’ myself included, but the unnecessary hate has gotten over the top.

I’m tired of seeing the same old rubbish that Seibold can’t develop young talent while he has turned Lehi Hopoate who was unknown into 1 of the hottest young talents in the league. Not to mention the huge leaps Koula has taken into becoming 1 of the best centres in the comp this season.

Whilst we haven’t got any top grade talent yet with salary cap restraints Seibold has still got some of the best juniors from both codes to come over. Onitoni Large was a top 3 talent in both codes & was chased by over 12 clubs. He clearly believed in the vision for the future as did his younger brother Ashton who is the best prospect in Rugby League for a long time & will be 1 of the best players in the NRL. (Bold call but I’m very confident on it.) Other gun prospects like Walsh & Muagututia also believe in the plans for the future.

The club has been handicapped since Des Haslers decisions to give Jake, Turbo & DCE over $3 million a year. It can be debated if it was the right or wrong decision at the time but it clearly hasn’t aged well. It’s obvious we won’t win a comp while these contracts are still around & everyone knows it even though it’s tough to admit.

Seibold + Mestrov are playing the long game & I think it will work but I respect the opinion of people that think it won’t. Can we just chill on things like throw away comments in a post match press conference that they are forced to do & spam in every single thread? 😃

The number of positive reactions your original post has received restores my faith in the majority of members ... well done.

Biff was / is a character who over the years has been here in multiple names. Sometimes he leaves on his own accord other times he gets blocked. It seems he's back .... If you want to get him going start talking religion. There were many crazy discussions. He had a particularly "good" / robust relationship with @Woodsie. I actually don't even remember how religion even got started on here but it did .....

Our Manly faith is only restored when we finally get a coach that restores our Great Manly Premiership winning reputation

The only way to keep all the Biffs in our forum and every other footy forum quite is to keep winning

The Moral of the Seibold Spam Story
The Whinging stops when the Winning starts

So lets Start Winning and Start Making Manly Great again

Well said

Yes we are going very poorly currently but not all of that is due to the coach.

And many of us are sick of the dribble.

For the first time since I joined , a long time ago now, I’ve actually blocked two or three members.

Signing Fogarty, Brookes, Jazz, Waddell, Brown, Lodge TKO,etc is not playing long game.

Teams such as Canberra are playing the long game. Have a look at their roster. Bunch of young nobodies but coming first. I had very big raps on Weekes, ( you can check my previous posts) but some posters wrote him off after 3 games with Manly. Well we got Brookes instead when we had a chance to develop Weekes. We seem to only sign players based on how good they were 5 or so years ago. It makes sense to do this with a Ben Kennedy type player for a bit of leadership but to fill a good portion of players over 30 who are constantly in and out of the lineup due to injuries is crazy.
