Ser8 is a genius

Usually as in 95% of games you play direct before going to the edge
This game it's Manly wide early then through the middle or opposite spread of the ball
Ser8 credit where due- called earlier and could well be the platform to break down resilient Storm defence
Regardless of the outcome- has definitely been the tactics

Manly have been doing this from 2007/08 especially against Melb, it limits their ability to control the tackle.

Melb will rush up more on the outside to limit our expansive play and apply pressure on Tom and limit the decision time of passes come finals time---they did a little today of that but wasn't really necessary on a slow slippery deck.

were not worthy waynes world GIF

Totally disagree - as from a shift it creates a 1 on 1 tackle...so they can't control the tackle
Do feel there is also a direct game against Storm, but makes it a game of attrition, which they like
No easy passage - more play to your potential and play there end...sounds easy ...but it isn't

In what world....you play through the middle, to earn the right to play wide....yet Manly went wide- then through the middle...with success and shows come finals- we have a show

It’s a great tactic and I was saying its hardly genius level to say we may use it.

All I take from this is that it's @SeaEagleRock8 's fault we lost!
These shifts made the easiest ground and field position, was just unfortunate we got murdered for ANY errors and some of the calls were horrendous.
Thing is , Manly can't control the blokes with the whistle and need to find 10% improvement and will be a show next meeting with this Yardstick team.

Had to be the tactics and exactly why I thought Walker is important - we just can't play set to set with the Storm - we need to be creative and have that x factor. We were pretty damn good last night - tactics were fabulous....... gee Des is lucky those injuries saved him lol but our hands and execution and effort at times just let us down. We can win this comp this year without a doubt.

The point of Melb rushing up on the outside more in finals time is to make it harder for Manly to play laterally and force us back through the middle where they can control the tackle with numbers.

The moment Manly has time and space laterally we make easy metres and create problems for their defence(even when they decide to slide and we cut back inside Manly make plenty of metres and Melb still lack dominant numbers in the tackle)
