IAN COLLIS from FoxSports Stats has analysed both teams and revealed the play that could make the difference.

MELBOURNE are dangerous all over the park, with ball-playing options in Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Greg Inglis and Billy Slater and damaging ball runners in Matt King, Isreal Folau and Ryan Hoffman to name a few.

One of their pet plays was perfectly executed against Parramatta last week at the Telstra Dome with Hoffman hitting a hole off a short ball from Inglis.

They have performed the play numerous times this season and it will pose a major danger to the Eagles' right side defence. (see illustration at righ).

1: Dummy half Smith passes to Inglis on a short left side, Steve Turner runs a decoy on the inside to keep the markers interested.

2: Inglis runs an "overs line" (away from the play the ball) drawing Nathan Cayless out and Brett Finch in.

3: King, supporting on the outside, puts Finch in two minds, he is worried about Inglis getting around Cayless but also by King lurking on the outside.

4: This moment of hesitation allows Hoffman to hit the defensive line at pace with Cayless and Finch both stopped.

5: Hoffman busts through and King supports to score the try.

The play works just as well with Cronk running to the line and Clint Newton hitting the hole instead of Hoffman.

All nine of Hoffman's linebreaks this season have come down the left side, five of them using a play very similar to the one on the weekend.
