Warrington Wolves close in on NRL prop for 2026
Warrington Wolves have moved into pole position for the signing of prop Toafofoa Sipley.
Wow you seem quite upset, you all good? Not very confident in the Manly hierarchy signing any forwards equivalent or better. I have zero faith in any signings to be honest. All I read in here is all the bright sparks suggesting we get rid of Saab, Koula, Garrick in order to improve our cap position & sign a prominent forward. All 3 are not on anything close to the $700k being bandied about by people here! I recall Garrick resigning for approx $550k & Koula $500k & Saab around $350k!!! Yet those same people cream at the thought of resigning the Trbos!! I guess decimate our backs to buy forwards. Rob Peter to pay Paul so to speak. Those same people will all whine & moan & bitch when we don’t improve from where we are now & play the blame game again! The coach, the forwards, the backs etc. are useless. It’d be sad to watch any of Saab, Koula, Garrick play for other teams & kick our arses but hey the experts say we should release them. I guess they all know the intricacies of salary cap management, talent awareness, player abilities, what the club needs to improve! Release our better players & keep injury prone, slow, limited players. DCE going & Fogarty arriving is a step in the right direction, however with Aloiai retiring, Sipley going to SL plus other players not being resigned we should be capable of enticing an experienced forward or two to the club. We’ve signed a couple of youngsters from other clubs (Bryan) & we have a few of our own ready to step up (Laiafi, Pua’avase). Add to that possibly Mooney, Fermor, at not exorbitant salaries I’d imagine, & we could field a pretty formidable pack next year. Paseka, Olakau’atu, Bullemore, Brbo along with experienced TKO, Lodge & Jrbo. No need to release any backs!!!! But hey I know jack$hit!
Our past successes were proven to be contributed by major signings. Not very confident in the Manly hierarchy signing any forwards equivalent or better. I have zero faith in any signings to be honest. As you’re talking about “major signings”,what do the Penn’s have to do with spending money? Our past successes were proven to be contributed by major signings.
Obviously the Penns don’t believe in the saying”you have to spend money to make money”
The signing of Fogarty is a great acquisition but unless we have the forwards to pave the way to show his worthiness it’s not going to happen.
I can only see the mediocrity continuing ,but hopefully I’m proven wrong.
That’s up to them!As you’re talking about “major signings”,what do the Penn’s have to do with spending money?
Yeah i would say you are pretty accurate on what i recall on those salaries - Garrick 550k-600k, Koula about the same and Saab $350k looks right. Not very confident in the Manly hierarchy signing any forwards equivalent or better. Agreed.... If it wasn't clear in my post I said same as Garrick around $550-$600kKoula is also on a health contract as he was being chased by Australian Rugby by Eddie (The Traitor) Jones. Would be on way more than $350k
