Curtis Sironen: St Helens sign Manly Sea Eagles second rower on two-year deal

St Helens have signed second rower Curtis Sironen from NRL side Manly Sea Eagles on a two-year deal to begin from next season.
The 28-year-old forward joins having made 65 appearances for Manly, scoring 17 tries for the club.
"I am very excited about the next chapter in my career and I couldn't have hoped to have signed with a better club," he told the Saints website.
"Every Australian player knows Saints set the benchmark in the Super League."
In 2012, Sironen made his NRL debut aged 18 for Wests Tigers and he moves to England with the option of a further year on his Saints deal.
"It was a very easy decision for me because I always wanted to play in England at some stage and I feel now is the right time to be making the move," he continued:
"My ex-Manly teammate Joel Thompson also told me some wonderful things about the club and its supporters."
Good result all round - Curtis gets a contract for next year and we free up a spot. Hopefully he can have a decent injury free run for a change
Had a couple of good seasons with the club, injuries have taken a toll on Sirro, good luck in the old dart for a couple of years.

- I'm kinda surprised no aust media have reported it, or more to the point, the Manly website. But like totes w/e - I wish him all the best. I was really hoping he'd get a good injury free run as I thought for awhile his footy instincts are there, his body is just letting him down.
So have a great time in the UK, don't pick up any funny....accents!

I think St Helens will get good value out of Sirro. He has the ability to be a star player for them.
And obviously frees some more Salary Cap for us , a win / win for both parties.
