The halfback poll and the old clips of Johnny Gibbs reminded me of his distinctive socks-own habit and I wonder who were the best ever players who couldn't keep their socks up? Any position.
(I have a vague recollection of this discussion happening before but it's the off season so there.)
Geoff Robinson of Canterbury is one who comes to mind.

Back in the day with the high ankle boots .. you needed long socks
