Carroll is the best person they have had in that Legends segment since Tooves. BTW when was Billy Moore a legend?

I bet if Ikin or Kent or any other media type had called Gallen a drug cheat he'd be blowing up delux. He wont say boo because he knows Spud will but one on his nose.

I was never a great Carroll fan as a player although he served us well, but he fantastic in the media and should be signed up but I fear his career took a hit tonight.

I hope not - it's good to have someone say what they think...I always respect that even when I don't agree with the call as it has integrity ....and in this case - Spuds 100% correct....it's ironic how media can straight up lie and because the agenda fits the majority- it's fair game ...yet a home truth like this Gallen call and you can get punted ....give me the truth any day over than these boring stereo types, reading off a dummy card.

I loved Spud as a player and I like him as a commentator. He's straight down the line.

I don't think Gallen is that well liked in the media that Spud's comments would affect his future too much. They're always bagging Gallen on the Professor's show.

You can't accept an early guilty plea to get a pathetic suspension and then plead your innocence. The trade off with the plea deal is you have the stigma of being a druggie....thems the breaks. The fact this is routinely ignored is a joke.

On the contrary, they may give him his own TV station in Queensland where Gallen is public enemy #1. If nothing else now would be a good time to expand his gym business into the Qjueensland market.

I loved Spud as a player. You were never left wondering if Spud was giving 110% in any game. Every hit up he made was always at full tilt.

The way I see it - Spud fills the role of " bloke who speaks in media without thinking" that Mark Geyer filled for years. And more recently Paul Gallen himself, or Gorden Tallis to an extent. Works for a while and is seen at first "refreshing honesty" but then people realise there's maybe not a lot going on "upstairs" with some of these types.

It's seems obvious to me Spud doesn't follow or understand the deeper issues in the game..... and to me struggles to follow the conversation at times..... I wouldn't be backing him in for a long media career personally. More like a Tommy Raudonikis wheel him out around origin time and let him loose in short spurts, then mothballed for a while.

I don't mind spud, but I agree on Raudonikus though.Never liked him always remember seeing Raudonikus at lidcombe oval pulling terry Randall's hair.A real proud grub.Roy masters probably told him to do it.I know spud well and he is nothing like Raudonikus let me assure you.

I think he knows a little more than you about rugby league!! He's nothing like Mark Geyer for a start. He speaks with passion & honesty. Straight forward, as he should be,without worrying what some 'prima donnas' are gonna think!

Spud speaks well, he's certainly no dope. Very poor comparison with Mark Geyer.
