Lachlan Croker to miss Storm clash

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles hooker Lachlan Croker will miss tomorrow night’s finals match against the Melbourne Storm at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

Croker pulled up with tightness in his lower back after training today. It has been decided not to risk using him this week.

If this game was sudden death, I believe Croker probably would have played. But since we got into the top 4 and it gives the double chance, Des and his staff decided it was worth giving Froggy a rest and playing Lawton at hooker.

Croker will either be back for the Prelim in 2 weeks, or at worst next week.

Fark this is not needed at all. He does so much in the middle and can play the full game. This is a big loss as he’s been a constant all year. No way Lawton will be able to play the minutes Frog does in the middle.

Well we are back tonight into our rightful place in the finals.

To what I think will happen, I just can't see us winning tonight this last minute disruption will hurt us.

I still see us making the preliminary final against the panthers but with Croker out I think storm by at least 12-14 points.

I am.so excited for tonight go hard boys , if we were to pull off the upset would be one for ages.

Pumped can’t wait, it’s been a hell of a year, the lads have developed their game into one of the most potent attacking sides in the comp, I hope we play our brand of footy tonight, stay away from the grind and run the petrol out of their game with lots of early ball camped down their end of the ground, do that and we’ll find points and the whole thing will snowball from there.

Yesterday I wasn’t worried but the late change will cause some disruption so I’m now just a tad concerned.

I actually think as a ball distributor that Lawton is better but there’s no doubt Froggy has been superb in that defensive role in the middle , how Karl steps up to that role will be important.

Nevertheless like everyone , over the moon that we are in 4th and playing in a huge game given where we’ve come from.

Lawton is a good defender in the middle, @Mark from Brisbane so I am not too worried about that. I actually don't think we lose anything having him as dummy half. He is definitely fit enough to play 80 minutes. His ball distribution is good.
I am not concerned at all about the change. However, Croker will come straight back into the side in two weeks time. Go Manly.

Lawton can bring a hint of unpredictability to attacking the storm line which they might not expect. I’m tipping a barge over try by Lawton. All he needs to do is hold the middle 3rd in defence and give clean ball.
