Sweet Victory- Crap Refs

That was a great victory and may seem negative to even bring it up....but that 1st half there were several dumb NZ calls.
The main I recall 3/4 pi**ed was Sheck who made a carving run cut down 10m short of the line...gets up to keep going and dragged over the sideline for a penalty??
Was I just in the Seaeagle bias or was it “we need an investigation”

It'll be interesting to see if Munro is reprimanded over that, let alone a few other incorrect calls. Then again, it was detrimental to Manly so it'll probably be swept under the carpet as per normal.

I had to watch the match without sound as the Pitwater RSL gave preference to horse racing commentary, and there were 5-6 occasions where I was totally confused with the refereeing decisions.
I thought, after watching RL for the best part of 60 years, I'd not need explanations but the blokes in yellow yesterday had me flummoxed.
I'm not sure if the 'expert' commentators explained the baffling rulings but it was one time when watching RL I was searching for help.

If rts had gone into score after the ref had called held -instead of us getting penalised it would be a massive story.
But no just put it aside.

He didn’t stop talking either. There was one point where we were defending our line and NZ passed it two wide and he called out “Hold” even though we were about 5m off our line, Elgey looked at him perplexed and you could sort of see he knew he was being an idiot. He did a lot of coaching the players which I don’t like and I felt sorry for the 2nd referee who he was training up, constantly talking to him, critiquing and praising him even though he himself was bloody hopeless. It was like being a work experience kid and getting stuck with the guy everyone in the office thinks is a pain.

The NRL is on this mantra about speeding up the game, but every freakin' time a player drops or even fumbles a ball the referee calls it a knock on and we the fans get punished with the joys of watching supposedly what passes for what my old man used to call a scrum and burning 60secs off the game clock. .

Referees also pride themselves on calling forward passes that are at best a bee's you know what forward. Order another scrum. Good on ya guys. Well done!

Plus after they call "held" if the attacking player runs on or passes the ball, they just tell them to go back and play the ball. But if the tacklers inadvertently go on with anything, like the RTS junk we saw yesterday, they penalise the defending team.

I thought that Annessley would fix all of this rubbish up.

And all the blow out scorelines so far in 2019 show that referees are more than ever favouring one team. The lottery is you don't know which team it will be on any given day.

The NRL will point to the competition table as evidence of an even competition, but what it won't show is that 75% of games are one sided junk to watch.
