Tallyn Da Silva

Neither are the Fainu’s,using your logic
The Fainus are seriously average average..well done Manly management so happy we said goodbye to that clan.

Oh and Schuster who??.. is he still struggling in South's NSW Cup team or is he injured again..

We can't keep them all and sometimes you need to just "let go".

Credit where its due though, good work Mr Mestrov and Seibs.

You may of lost a bit of credibility with your Schuster comment. Not as if his story this week was only printed next to the comic section of Wagga Wagga’s Daily Advertiser

He wasn't great last night and I think that is the issue, he isn't the finished product or a full time NRL starter but wants NRL starter money. A few tigers mates reckon he has a decent ego and is getting ahead of himself. He needs another year or two as a back up but isnt prepared to wait. They say there are question marks over his defence and he struggles with big minutes. He is quick which is his main attribute and service is ok without being outstanding. Not sure next year we would have the cap space for him. I assume Zaidas would be on the outer if Tallyn comes

Not a finished product at all, but it's not like he's been getting game time to develop. Last week, he was the #14, and didn't play a single minute.

There's a player there, he just needs the opportunity. Has a higher ceiling than anyone at the club so far.

By the sounds of things, this Jake Arthur release is to open up a spot for TDS. Given Jake Arthur was only on small coin, I don't think TDS is getting massive coin at this point. Might have a lot of KPI's in his contract.

I think Ashton Large will be great, but he's a long way off. It'll probably be the 2030's by the time Ashton establishes himself as a first grader in the NRL.

If so I doubt he’ll get that with us so if true maybe he goes elsewhere
Yeah this is the quote from the tele but being the tele who knows?

"Most good judges expect da Silva to become a superstar. They see a rare talent in a position of scarcity. It’s why a handful of clubs are scrambling to sign him before the June 30 deadline after he was given permission by the Tigers to open negotiations with rival clubs.

There is every chance da Silva could make a call on his future over the weekend, once he has met all the interested clubs and toured their facilities.

The Tigers are unlikely to stand in his way even though they see the talent as well - it is why they agreed to pay him in excess of $400,00 next season."

Not so sure about that Mark. Manly have just released Arthur, Tevaga is of for England, DCE is leaving and I wouldn't be surprised if one or two others leave, so the monies available suggest they could be looking for future long term players. Da Silva has apparently been offered a 3 year contract from Manly, so they are interested (though the amount hasn't been disclosed).

Yes he’s firming , and I’d say strongly

Apparently, asking for 600k, that's way too much for an unfinished product. Even the 400k he is on next year is far too much for his stage of development.

Tallyn is 20, and debuted at 18. Ashton is 18 next year. If Ashton is as good as many people believe (me concluded) it wont be 5 + years before he establishes himself. I didn't see a lot of TDS as a youngster but id be surprised if he was ahead of where Ashton is at the same age, for all he has accomplished so far, if Ashton isn't the best player in his age group he'd be very close.

I could only see this as viable if we have already given up on Zaidas being the long term solution as he is only a year younger than TDS but still not on the $ he wants, give me a dominant middle first

The kid is definitely a work in progress with some promise. He is at the start of his journey and his career. Last night he showed a couple of mistakes but his late try was a good reply. But I do not accept he is some sort of visible star of the future, regardless of what kind of hot air is being blown up everyone's ass by the specialists in that exercise. He showed enough for mine to suggest that with the right coaching and the right luck he could develop into a proper first grader.

Frankly for mine if he wants $400k per year it is a hard Pass: we have far more pressing problems to spend money on than a rookie hooker who shows some signs of promise. I think I'd rather keep working on Simpkin and our younger players coming on. We get hold of a proper aggro frontrow forward, it is amazing how much better players like Simpkin will look.

Completely agree. I honestly can’t see what the hype is all about. As you say, he may develop into something, but $400k is ridiculous.
