Tallyn Da Silva

Not so sure about that Mark. Manly have just released Arthur, Tevaga is of for England, DCE is leaving and I wouldn't be surprised if one or two others leave, so the monies available suggest they could be looking for future long term players. Da Silva has apparently been offered a 3 year contract from Manly, so they are interested (though the amount hasn't been disclosed).
More than one or two to leave at the end of this year.

Our problem for years now has been the Number 9. Our recruitment hunts down the best on the market and many here are up in arms.

What is wrong with you people? Finally the club notices a problem and is proactive in fixing it.

And as for the money, how much were we paying the Fainu boys when they were years from NRL?

I'd argue our middle forwards are a bigger problem for us than 9 at the moment, without decent middles our 9 is fairly irrelevant.

I'd also argue that TDS is not the best on the market, and definitely not worth anywhere near 600k

I would be getting Reed Mahoney which is proven and can do the job we need a number 9 to do.
For the Dogs to get rid of Mahoney, there’s obviously something wrong with him. He wants to stay and is being told to look around. Either his personality is grinding on the team or they’ve identified his lack of enterprise and tendency to move sideways from the ruck as a concern. If Gus thought he was important, you can bet the house he’d be staying.

Pretty sure you'd be able to name the spine of most premiership winning teams. The middle forwards? Not so much.

The good coaches get the spine right first, then follow with the rest.

I think it's fair to assume Yeo, Fisher-Harris, and Leota, who are all internationals, are bigger names and were on considerably more than Mitch Kenney, who is just a no-frills workman 9 during the last 4 premiership wins.
