$650k is a bit steep for the kid don’t you think… and a 4 year contract!
Okay so why did he take the 30th spot then ( not expecting you to know rather a general question ), couldn’t we just sign him for next year but still look for another forward ??
Certainly top money , may end up being a bargain , but if he doesn’t work out , it’s a good chunk of salary cap

Manly will continue talks with Newcastle around an early release for injured prop Paul Bryan (out for the season after undergoing shoulder surgery) to join the club before Monday’s June 30 deadline, having already signed a deal for next year. In turn, Sea Eagles back up half Jake Arthur will join his brother Matthew at the Knights for the rest of 2025.
Assume, Newcastle would not have been able to take Arthur if Bryan was still on their top 30 books for 2025 as he would have been #31.
We had to take Bryan on our 2025 top 30 books if we wanted him for 2026.

Well that is really dissapointing, was really pleased at the thought of Da Silva joining us.
Sounds like Parra came in hard with bigger dollars and more years.
I wanted him but if true at 685k and 4 years I would have been a bit nervous.
Tough one, could be one we rue missing if he kicks on like I think he could or could be a dodged bullet if he doesnt quite reach that level.

I just posted a snippet on the signings thread that according to the Knights forum we have also signed an under19s blues forward named Jack Hilliar. I guess it's a wait and see until official or not but I thought others would like to know.

I like the sullivan signing. Looking better each game. Annan not so much. Looked horrid at 6. Not to sure where / how he fits. Not all signings are going to be hits. Look at our club history. Heaps of flops. Sully will build us so we are competitive in all grades.

Bugger I thought there was quite good potential for nick-name thread for Talyn. But eels are desperate and have big money to spare after losing Brown so fair enough.
Wonder if Zaidas is getting closer to an NRL debut, sounded like he was quite impressive early in the season

Agree mate….anyway he’s gone to the Eels so time to move on. Hopefully Simpkin is now given priority so he can develop further & prove he is our future 9 moving forward. He made a huge difference when he came on the other night. This chopping him every time Croker comes back from an injury is not good. Tevaga is leaving, Croker may need to medically retire which leaves us with Simpkin & young Matatutia as our 9s.

Not sure mate but if he’s out for the season we can still bring someone up or have a development player in mind to play in his place.
