As much as I want to see him dropped, because in current form he is arguably the WORST performing halfback in the NRL right now, like you, I can't see it happening. Seibold doesn't have the balls to drop DCE like Ryles did with Brown.

And also like you, I'm hoping Uncle Nick gets cold feet and does his own backflip on DCE.

Problem is we don't have a lot of promising youngsters. Our squad depth overall is a number of older cheapies.

Sad but true.

Caleb Navale is just about our only NSW Cup forward who is showing any sort of promise. And truth be told, Clayton Faulolo is the only one pushing to take a backline spot.

This club's premiership window closed about 3 years ago and we haven't come close to opening another one since.

Yes we have a young half in Joey Walsh, but are he and whoever his manager are going to be happy with him playing NSW Cup for the next 2-3 years until Brooks and/or Fogarty are gone??

The problem being is that Penn hires incompetent people. Hey you - you want to coach an NRL team. What you've never done it before - no worries learn on the job. You're fired.. Hey you - you want a coaching job - spoon last time - no worries you should know how to avoid one then... Gone backwards - hell never mind, have another go next season..

Sadly for long suffering fans, coach seibold wasn’t interested in nursing along our talented youth for a long term plan. For his own career he needed to win now. Think Bennett at Newcastle. So began a series of short term deals designed only to achieve success right now. The cupboard of future talent was left empty, there was no plan B. In reality there was no plan A either.

Why are we adding to his contract? it's absolute madness.

The talk of dropping DCE is ridiculous, it’s just not going to happen. We lost yesterday because of our forwards, too old, dad’s army complement. We have no forwards depth whatsoever. There are NSW cup teams with much stronger packs than what we fielded yesterday. If DCE goes to the roosters he will do well there because they have a decent pack of forwards….

I don’t know how the forwards made him arm grab in his tackles. I don’t know how the forwards stopped him from passing to Saab with some open space in front of him to score. I don’t know how the forwards stopped him from left stepping against a back-pedalling Doey at the line instead of dishing it off over the sideline off Burbo. Don’t know how the forwards caused him to kick on the 2nd tackle in the attacking red zone straight over the dead ball line. I don’t know how the forwards caused him to not put up a single kick to Saab’s advantage on the line…

That all said. He did a few good things compared to the previous few weeks, and yes, we had a dad’s army out there getting smashed.

I can understand why they did it with Bennett, with the sort of resume he has.
Its unfathomable how the local Manly grade competition has been completely neglected.

Just to also let you know, Austin Dias was in the Manly NSW Cup team for a few years...now he's on the fringes of the Panthers first grade team.
