Team Selections....

Bencher
Throughout this year I've followed & supported Trent's team selections, however his love affair with Lewis Brown is starting to annoy me big time! Surely there are better options for a bench utility than Brown! I have nothing against him but to be brutally honest he doesn't offer much when either starting or coming off the bench. He was named on the bench for the Roosters game & now seems he will start ahead of Lane! I was disappointed when Buhrer was let go to accommodate other signings & for a while it seemed it was a decision that was justified but I only wish we still had him in the team. Whether starting or off the bench he would have been & still is so much more effective than Brown. Obviously Trent sees something in him that we can't & probably never will! I have faith that we'll still play a part in the finals but my hopes are being dashed by some really bewildering selections & may cost us during the finals!! Our strongest starting pack should be Taupau, Api, Lawrence, Sironen, Lane, Jake T......Res: AFB, Perrett, Lussick, Hastings with Tanginoa, Winterstein, Brown as back up. I have no problem with our backs. Many are calling for Kelly to be replaced, but I think he's done pretty well & can only get better. With that in mind I'm sure the boys will get that winning feeling back & let the rest of the NRL world know we're back!!!!!!!!!

You covered it all, and did so in a way that even the most ardent Barrett fan would find hard to argue. I don't mind Barrett, think he has the potential to be a very astute coach. The fact Lewis Brown Has never been overlooked for selection p1sses me off no end. I have watched football since the seventies and though in no way do I consider myself an expert, I can identify a sh1t player. Lewis Brown is a sh1t player, of that I have no doubt. Lane should be starting ahead of him and Hastings should be chosen ahead of him on the bench. He has had a few spirited runs this season and laid on one try assist earlier in the year and that's it. No power in defence, never puts a player on his back and very very rarely makes a one on one tackle. I have read over and over that he covers several positions as injury cover, but at what level? At hooker he's adequate in a pinch, as a back rower he's terrible, centre abhorrent and I cannot recall him playing anywhere else. Whether it's because Barrett brought him here and his pride is getting in the way of common sense I don't know. But for mine Hastings who can cover the halves, fullback, hooker and do it well should always be selected ahead of him.Hastings possesses a great kicking game (including goals)and consistently throws a very decent pass. Why is this below average footballer always chosen, he knows he no longer belongs in first grade, watch his body language on Sunday. It annoys me so much, fark him off to Blacktown where he belongs.

I think there were about 11 members singing Poo's praises in that thread, out of perhaps 100 or so......

mmm......11 votes for points in last weeks MVP

coincidence?
The few can sing Poo Browns praise as long as they like .
The sad truth is that the fat lady sang his farewell NRL song ' its over " when the smart Penrith Panthers knew it was time to release him to us .

I could not agree with you more feathered friend .
The NRL game has evolved where all forwards and outside backs need SIZE and SPEED to be a dominant force and players like Brown and Kelly both lack those two essential qualities

Power and Speed = Power Play wins match day

I am looking forward in seeing some quality additions to our 2018 squad .
