Mainly ain't Manly anymore

$CE is Blake Green with more god-given talent. And we had to bring his best mate, Forehead, with him. Two of the biggest whoring players I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching.

Can we just stop with the hiring of mercenaries?

It's either mercenaries or past it journeymen looking for 1 last payout before retirement. That's what this club has become.

We were a consistently winning club since our inception until Penn became sole owner. Even before winning silverware for the first time in 1972, we had made the grand final 5 times, and at least once within our first 5 years.

When we were busted and barely alive in 2003, we managed to claw ourselves back and it culminated in the greatest grand final victory 5 years later, the great 40-0 victory, against a professional organisation that knows modern day success all too well. We did this cause we had a few good Manly men in charge who really got the playing squad to really buy into what it meant to be Manly. Honestly, what could this club had of been if Hasler, Toovey and Singe were kept together even just a bit longer.

We are in our longest drought now since first winning silverware. You would think that a merger would be one of the most harmful things to the health of a footy club but we overcame that. We are not overcoming what we are going through now.

Just farken sad…

Green joined and left in 2017. Kind of a latter day Johnny Mayes or Gimmemorely.

Nate Kilometres on the other hand joined in 2016 and departed halfway through 2017.

Penn has ensured the club is a light weight off the field and always will be , as he doesnt inject the funds and seems to play pootly with others

The plethora of CEO’s that trundled through , as well as the coaching staff and the break ups highlight this

Not sure why penn is like that after buying in , but you can not rule out the disgusting board issues where penn was routinely voted down by the FC and quantum
There was a story floating about that the FC club asked for coin for a footy related expense, but then used that coin secretly to purchase shares back to stack the board against penn with his own coin . If this is true then no one could claim we were a united club with a clear future, and thatwould scar anyone, and remove all trust

Because des kept us humming the board fighting is never attributed to culture demise but in fairness we were eating our own on a regular basis , publicly, and i reckon it was part if tooves demise also

FFS barrett pulled the pin on us and both players and coaches alike are wary of signing with us it seems. Barrett had a **** hot team and while he is limited the players used barrett as an excuse to under perform and some of the on field kicking at the times showed a petulance or attitude and leadership, issues a bit like we are seeing again

The early dce contracts killed the player culture and replaced it with a culture of stat collecting and box ticking

Our revival, all the hard work, killed by ego at all levels

Big 3
The game has moved past jake and manly tried to push him into roles we lacked which has further weakened his game
Turbo, worth every cent but injury, overuse , and our predictability in attack blunts his impact now
Dce not a leader, has decided parts of being a 7 is not his go , his game has stagnated, is predictable in that he will use up all the time but always pass or submit so is rarely a threat

You can chuck in the public shaming of schuster. I know, we all get it, we invested, hoped, but after watching a captain and coach show the frustration fr the squads performance and use schuster to deflect, while sending a clear message to the footy world that we are a winning collective but not a losing collective

Doesn't make sense? It's an allegation of serious fraud if true, but could never have worked to tip the balance on the board because the FC has only ever owned a very small minority holding?

Curious to know what were the issues Penn was voted down on that you found disgusting?

Yeah, maybe its possible i have a few details mixed from memory but i do recall some type of event . The reporting details would constitute fraud , not necessarily the actions.
Either way it was reported that the Penn side felt slighted after somehow financing or part financing something that diluted there power due to the cosy relationship between the other 2

Ive mentioned that exchange a few times, and would really enjoy some clarity from anyone who also recalls. I know there out there

As for the board , not necessarily agenda items, but the behaviour in general between the 2 factions was ugly and represented a culture that lacked unity, or the manly spirit. I loved the passion of all the people just couldnt see the value of the battle, and how manly could emerge stronger. Once penn gained power, there was only 1 outcome

At the time it was FC/quantum and the Penns which was the point i was trying to express i spose
