The Actual 18th Team: Perth Bears

Me and the Mrs do the same. It's embarrassing that he has had a job in the media for so long when he struggles to string two words together that make any sort of sense and any questions he asks are so banal and don't even require an answer. He even manages to put obviously obviously together. He's trading on his success as a player from about 35 years ago
Agree, looks like Sean Johnston will be taking big Mals spot on the Fox footy pre game show it would seem now.

Don’t forget to add at least a half a dozen ‘obviouslys’ in that statement. I run out of fingers and toes counting them.(I could use a clicker calculator, but that might seem a bit anal retentive of me 😳).
Well, obviously! 😀

Does anyone else think its wild that the Bears haven't been given dispensation to start talking to 2027 off contract players now?

Seems wild to me that a new club is having to wait till Nov 1st like everyone else.

I see Mal doing his best Gus by saying "we'll be targeting Jacob Preston" and a few others, so while not talking directly he's putting it out there

They can wait rules were not bent for the dolphins so **** the bears. I'm not happy about a club owned by the nrl signing players from other clubs.

You think the nrl owning the bears are going to police the cap like they do with other teams? what about refs? the bears being owned by the nrl is a massive conflict of interest and should not happen.

All this new Bears team is going to do is make it even harder for the clubs that are not as strong financially, i dont think it has anything to do with Perth, now those tossers that turn up to games in Bears jerseys have something to cheer about

Weren't the Dolphins?

I feel like Graham and Kaufusi were signed ages out.

Maybe Kaufusi was given permission

No same rules. On 26 November 2021, the Dolphins made their first major signing for their 2023 entry, recruiting Felise Kaufusi

November 8 was the first (non major) Harrison Graham

So as you can see they waited to November 1st

Sad buggers ... the youngest bloke amongst them that was even alive the last time they won anything would now be 103 years old .. possibly a contender for the most pathetic sporting franchise in history ..

Someone told me the Perth media were supporting it at all, not sure how much truth is in that but let's see how many North Sydney tragics are willing to fly 5 hours one way to watch a regular season game

Hmmm there you go.

Personlly still think a new club deserves a longer lead time.

Yeah it's weird (and sad). Sure as hell if it was the Perth Sea Eagles I wouldn't give a crap about them, much like the Northern Eagles years.
