It's become apparent that leaving for another club is a gamble. It's not a foregone conclusion that you just take your talent somewhere else and everything falls into place. The pressure that comes with being a marquee signing and the time it takes to gel with your new teammates is something DCE should think about at this stage of his career. He is not a 20 year old with the world at his feat, he will be 27 by the time he wears a Titans jumper, and realistically only has 3 seasons left of "peak" form, before the next superstar comes along and pressures for a rep jumper.

By signing Elgey the Titans shot themselves in the foot. This meant our options were limited and so the focus was then on retaining DCE.

Good point, I wonder if they actually thought about that , because had we signed him it's doubtful we'd be going hard at Cherry, but you can be sure they are busting their proverbial boilers at present stitching up TPA's to get the deal done.

Paul Kent reckons DCE will make a final decision within the week. He says Manly have put a revised offer to him but have also told him they'd prefer a decision soon because Round 13 also looms for Manly should he decide to go and they need to find a replacement. He thinks it more likely he'll stay.

I don't know... Something has definitely changed with Daly's form. He's tried his guts out all year but until about 3 weeks back did not look at all happy. Now he's happy, and his form reflects that. Either he's come to terms with leaving Manly and found peace with that... Or he's decided to stay and is even happier 🙂

Could be either or, but I'm praying it's the latter!!
