The Daly Cherrygraph

Seriously ?
He has not revealed what he is doing ?
He has stated that we wont be renewing his contract . He wont be here next year
He has stated that this will give the club the opportunity to make plans and move on
What difference does it make whether he goes for another honey moon with his sexy wife to France or plays on for another club .
The fact is and the only fact that matter is that He wont be at Manly .
Clearly DCE suffers from maladaptive coping behaviour traits.

Just sayin’

Not if its something that has been developing over a period of time, Rocky. We all have a limit. And the fact he said nothing besmirching about it does show professionalism. Money has nothing to do with it. You speak of money but he has already met his obligations, or will have by the end of the year. Contracts don't bond you indefinitely. And performance on the field is what this is all about, not what is said or unsaid. As I suggested if he's performance drops then, unless he is injured, he is not meeting his obligations and like any player has to face getting reprimanded or even sacked from captaincy or first grade. If he performs well for the rest of the year he has met his obligation and we should have no issue with him. If he contracts elsewhere it should have nothing to do with us.
I believe there is a term for this. Its called quiet quitting.

mmmmm ...... magic beans

Players come and go. Most are remembered. What is key is what they are remembered for. For me DCE will be remembered for not leading the club to a premiership as our captain and the highest paid player for over a decade and what he did in 2025 his last season. I expected that he would remain professional and get the job done this year (particularly in view of the long term friendships I assume ha had with the senior playing group) but I was wrong. IMO he has put his cue in the rack and is going through the motions. He was going to be remembered by me as one of my favourite all time players but not anymore. Its not chasing the money that urks me, its sh-ting in the nest before he flies the coup and derailing our 2025 season needlessly that is unforgiveable. Enjoy the money it came at the cost of your reputation and legacy at Manly. I don't wish DCE any ill will as he is after all a long time Manly player but he has lost me as a supporter forever.
Exactly my feelings Tragic. Really disappointed in what’s transpired.

He won't. Ridiculous paper talk.

I would like to see Joey Walsh get a guernsey next week against the Eels when DCE is on SOO duty.
It's come from Matt Johns. Seriously that guy has all the credibility of an Indian bookmaker. I'm calling bullsh*t but If it is true then DCE clearly is happy to totally trash 15 years and record games legacy.

For that to happen we would have to be getting a replacement half from the Roosters surely, but then what becomes of that new half next year when Fogarty arrives? If we trade DCE for a replacement forward, it still leaves us short a half. Can’t see anyway letting DCE go early makes sense for us, unless we think Walsh is ready now, in which case why did we buy Fogarty? But knowing us, we will probably just let DCE go and get nothing in return, and the roosters will win the comp.
Siebold would throw Tom to 6 and brooks to 7 if DCE goes mid season I reckon. Who knows maybe wheels are already turning in that respect for this year. I wouldn’t be against it if we can get a young forward from Easts.

I really don't think DCE gives a flying fark about a club legacy, DCE is all about DCE, he showed it in 2012, again 2015, and again today, something crawled up his ar$e and he just couldn't let it go, despite being the highest paid footballer for the past 10 seasons he still thinks the club owes him something.
I'd be happy if he farked off now, we have no chance of winning any competition with the forwards in our team, so whether DCE stays or goes will not make any difference, that way he's lost to all Manly supporters for good.

Given Turbo looks dead when running the ball, and seemingly cannot change direction anymore, this might be a good fix for both him, and the halves. Turbo being used purely as a possible running threat, rather than doing the freaky stuff he normally does whilst running the ball, is basically confirmation he cannot perform as a running fullback right now. He still has great hands.

On this alternative too; Hopoate can at least change direction. Might make him start playing his more natural game, than trying to offload when he doesn't make the metres he wants as a battering ram.

Brooks has been doing most of the kicking anyway.

I watched the highlights for our last two Cowboys games, and it is night and day between DCE then and DCE now.
