He pretends to be articulate (and manages to fool some of the lower IQ fans) but he uses an awful lot of wrong big words in the wrong places.

Controversial opinion, but I thought DCE was the best half in the game last night - ahead of Cleary and Moses, and well ahead of Munster. I have a feeling there is a lot of anti DCE sentiment in qld circles still, harking back to the Titans backflip. Not saying he was great, just better than the other three. Cleary has escaped criticism despite not performing at origin level, yet again.

I haven’t watched the Matty Johns show in ages. But when they said Api would be on the show last Sunday night,I thought I’d have a look, as I enjoy listening to him. But what I got was three morons talking about the merits of Tyrell Mays’ man bag! I thought it had to be a gee-up at first, until I looked at Apis sheepishly embarrassed facial expression. If that’s the specific audience Fox is catering to, then leave me well out of it.

My take from origin was that the ruck was very slow and both teams got away with a lot of hold downs, there was no penalties for inside the 10m. Klein gave lots of other penalties like grapples and ball strips that he was forced into and so he was reluctant to enforce the ruck and get accused of blowing the pea out of the whistle so he just turned a blind eye. So it was very hard for any of the halves to shine.

Cleary kicking game was the worst he's probably ever had I'll grant that ( funny what kick pressure does wish we would do it here at Manly ) BUT the way he carted the ball up and straightened the attack and threatened the defence line and put his body on the line was excellent to my eyes. Physically Cleary was great in that game, yes lacking polish but never stopped trying and was a huge run threat, playing on the advantage line. DCE was like Manly DCE floating across field, well behind the advantage line and dishing it off to someone else to get smashed.

That’s how I saw it as well. I haven’t seen Cleary running at the line and putting on the big right foot step in ages. It reminded me of one Laurie Daley at his best.

You need to keep up with the conversation Cochrane. The issue related to a statement made by Budgie, who actually is one of my more favourite commenters, saying that supporters don't like DCE. I know what he was trying to say but I just added that there are those who do favour him. I suspected I knew what Budgie was trying to say, but I just felt it needed to be made less absolute. Its quite obvious that, as said, DCE polarises the fan base for multiple reasons, some justified and some not. That was the point. No other hidden agenda there I'm afraid Cochrane. By the way your nom de plume uses the name of one of my favourite players Mal Cochrane, who I worked with for a short time after he retired. No hidden agenda there either.

If he gets paid $1m+ a year, you can guarantee that it wouldn’t be that amount on the rorters cap. DCE would be spending a lot more time on the golf course however
