BTW if people here think I'm giving it to DCE because of what's happened this year you can go back to 2018 and maybe before saying he wasn't the great halfback that most people thought he was.

I even started a thread that DCE was the worst halfback in the NRL.

Agree, many of us questioned his all round ability as a half and organiser for many years, as apart from brilliance and clutch field goals which is what earns Dally M points, his ability to provide consistency, play to the state of the game instead of playing a high percentage of the time like manly are leading by 36 and failure to take control of the game when up by healthy leads has been frustrating and one of the keys to manly not throwing a punch at finals time.

From 2022 to 2024, a quick look shows manly longest winning streak is 2 in 2022, 2 in 2023 and 3 in 2024. 2017, 2019 and 2021 were our best years with 4 or 5 games. We have a better squad than some of those years, but it's getting worse.

Seibold has something to answer for also you'd think.

This DCE situation is a debacle for him, the Manly club, and rugby league. I will not bag DCE as a player as I have rated him as a Manly great. Just a huge pity that he bungled his last season - got it all wrong, and may have wrecked his legacy. But no kudos for the Manly club either which has displayed much ineptitude with its handling of this matter, which in the over all scope is just another manifestation of its inept retention/recruitment record. And now they have signed Fogarty for three seasons whilst his current coach reckoned that two seasons was the maximum he was worth. The farce looks likely to continue.

Not directly related to DCE but it really isn't that hard to spell "Dearden" correctly - note the absence of the letter "o".

He was an over rated 7 before he had DCE TV
He is an over rated 7 who is older a d less palatable after DCE TV

Im happy for him to play, i just want our team moving in a different direction on the field and his top dog status makes it hard to adjust team direction

For much of the last 5 years manly have played an out the back attack style with TOM being the answer to all questions

Injuries has made that style inconsistent as tom has been inconsistent in games played

Reuben and koula were ok but not good enough to succeed under the same conditions because they were not tom

Lehi is mixing it up but the fullback rotation, the reliability of frog and the sooky la la of DCE has left our spine doing it tough, and a roving Tommy to boot

In the next few weeks it really all could come together but i have a feeling the excuses will mount a strong enough case to quietly concede

In a year of DCE TV we must wonder how this affect manly , you know all this qld disappointment
