The Daly Cherrygraph

It’s either,

A) you’re right and he’s done & dusted
B) he’s just turning up for a pay cheque but has zero interest left in putting in.
C) he’s signed with the Rorters already and just doesn’t give a ****

Could be any of the above
Not sure if he's signed, but I would certainly say that he has agreed to terms with the Roosters, the Roosters now would certainly be having second thoughts about it, as it would probably result in the loss of Sandon Smith and perhaps Savala, who may not be prepared to sit behind Evans for one year, or possibly two.
Politis is a man of integrity and would honour the agreement, however this puts the Roosters in an awkward position, a lot will hinge on DCE now, he will not play State of Origin again,so that incentive has gone, he is approaching an age wall now a lot faster than he though he would last year, and now he's enduring a rather toxic year at a club where he would have been a legend.
No more playing for Australia or Qld , Manly likely to fall over before semis, and at 37 years of age enduring another preseason where all the scrutiny will be on him, it may all be a bridge too far, my guess is the Roosters will make an offer to him NOT to play next year, and DCE will announce his retirement at the end of this year, and $hitting on his legacy at Manly in the process.

In the press conference after the game dce was again asked about his future, his response was the vaguest I have heard from him yet. Maybe the rorters are not answering his calls anymore

Very vague, yes.
Also clearly loving the attention.

Politis is a man of integrity
So the media say ad nauseum while, at the same time, laughing about the Roosters Sombrero.

He is not a man of integrity but one of cunning guile. He charms the journos (puts them up at his Greek Island residence etc) and the head honchos of the NRL (conveniently next door neighbours of the Roosters), works his magic with promises for life after league to his intended player prey, and, I believe, plays a bit of golf.

No doubt, quite the affable chap, but integrity?

Firstly, I must disclose that I am not of the school of thought that DCE should and/or needs to announce his next move to help Manly. We know he's going and where that happens to be, changes nothing for us.

But..

Anyone else think the reason DCE has not announced a deal with the Chooks, is because they have asked him not to? I reckon the deal was done a long time ago (most agree), but the Roosters themselves asked Daly not to announce it, knowing that it could harm the form of their current halves and create potential unrest for their season?

What I mean is, I don't believe it's Daly keeping his cards close to his chest for himself, rather, he has been instructed not the disclose what is happening to protect the Roosters.

Watmough went close
To be fair, Watmough was fighting to prevent what’s been happening to the club over the past 10 years back then but none was listening. Problem is while Manly were called silver spoons the players weren’t treated like it. Our players were winning premierships while getting changed in their cars for the love of the club. Our core group of players took unders for the love of manly. Choc and Gift deserved to retire in manly colours.

Dollar Chaser on the other hand has always prioritised himself. Nothing against it and totally understandable but as a fan of Manly I haven’t enjoyed watching it unfold. Sure the club is also responsible but D$E has had everything on his terms for the tenure of his time at Manly and he hasn’t been able to put the pieces of the puzzle together. He has the option to retire a one club players but chose not to. IMO even if he does end up retiring what he has done this season has tarnished his reputation at manly. May hold records but I’ll never consider him a Manly Legend.

That’s possible LC, but the current roosters halves would have to be living underground to not see the writing on the wall. The rumour is probably just as damaging as a formal announcement would be.

Maybe. But when you have Brandon Smith 'announcing it' right after his Roosters exit, you'd have to imagine the players were all aware, at least of the rumours

Perhaps, but why would he go on TV to make any sort of announcement, in that case?

All it did was draw attention to it & create controversy & speculation to the present day.

I'd say the reason noone really listened to Choc is because people percieved his only job was just to put his head in the scrum and he didnt speak all that well. But in the end he speaks from the heart.

Well regardless , it’s pretty clear he’s done & dusted.

I watched two players carefully last night

The Tigers young hooker ( he shows promise )

The Dollar Chaser

The Chaser was largely ineffective, Brooks did most of the kicking , he made lots of very average plays and dumb decisions ( on the last tackle particularly).

And at one stage I saw him behind the play with his hands on his hips , either buggered or just not getting involved.

The sooner the season ends and we are rid of him the better.
