The Daly Cherrygraph

So the media say ad nauseum while, at the same time, laughing about the Roosters Sombrero.

He is not a man of integrity but one of cunning guile. He charms the journos (puts them up at his Greek Island residence etc) and the head honchos of the NRL (conveniently next door neighbours of the Roosters), works his magic with promises for life after league to his intended player prey, and, I believe, plays a bit of golf.

No doubt, quite the affable chap, but integrity?
What you say is true, perhaps integrity is not quite the word, however I am certain that he would honour any handshake deal that he may have made with D$E

I still believe he is playing within himself part there of because of the back injury, it may be coincidence along with his announcement timing but he hasn't played the same since.

Just like Kapow when he got knocked senseless and never truly regained his confidence or play style. DCE may have subconscious concerns with his back that is holding him back.

Ok fire bullets

Add that to the list of reasons , and pick whichever suits the narrative you believe ( because that’s what everyone else does ).

Suggestions DCE has already signed with SC doesn't sit well with me. Not saying he's not interested in going there and SC are not interested. Its just there seems no reason not to admit it. What's to be gained. He's admitted he wont be at Manly this year from the start, so its not as if he is playing for more money with the Sea Eagles. And SC aren't stupid in picking a player as old as DCE without seeing if he can make it through this year unscathed. I'm not saying he hasn't signed with them, its just what I would deem as improbable. My guess is just that SC are watching to see how he manages to get through this year. If he's still in sparkling form they'll probably sign him. If not it will be then up to the Dolphins to make a bid, or he will probably retire.

He may not have "signed" - but he has "agreed" to go the Roosters.

He knows that Politis will make good on the money side of things for him - whether that on the books, off the books or other "business opportunities"

Firstly, I must disclose that I am not of the school of thought that DCE should and/or needs to announce his next move to help Manly. We know he's going and where that happens to be, changes nothing for us.

But..

Anyone else think the reason DCE has not announced a deal with the Chooks, is because they have asked him not to? I reckon the deal was done a long time ago (most agree), but the Roosters themselves asked Daly not to announce it, knowing that it could harm the form of their current halves and create potential unrest for their season?

What I mean is, I don't believe it's Daly keeping his cards close to his chest for himself, rather, he has been instructed not the disclose what is happening to protect the Roosters.
Yep have been thinking along the same lines.

Not disputing that he has probably spoken with Politis and that Politis has indicated that they are interested with a firm offer. But I would suggest Politis has not made the offer unconditionally. Like they did with Cronk, they are waiting to see him through his last year at the former club. Both Cronk and DCE were or are near the end of their career and far more liable to serious long term injury. Last thing they would want to do is outlay big money on a broken body. Already DCE is showing the wear and tear. Get through the season unscathed and he'll sign late in the season or Sept/Oct as was done with Cronk. Promise is there if he gets through and interestingly Cronk also declared early in his last season at Melbourne that that would be his last season there, though his excuse was family commitments and a TV contract. History repeats itself. SC did the same with Fulton

Because he went to parra and actively bad mouthed the club to fans through the media on the way out.

He had a right to have a beef with the club privately but he didn't need to be a d!ck about it.

Gifty certainly didn't behave that way or did others like Fatty or even Dessie (the player).
I cant question his passion for Manly, so that I am willing to forgive.
