The Finals thread: (week 1)

Massive choke on the Raiders but a great game. Storm v Broncos GF likely and I hate both teams. Sad to say again but we are just so far off the pace it is a joke ..... Clown owner and I am sorry but I am almost off the fence and a clown coach.

So what did the bunker do that’s what I trying to find out
1. After Canberra charged down an attempted field goal and were celebrating the win The Bunker decided that the kicker's legs had been touched by a defender and gifted the Donkeys the penalty under the posts. This was despite the fact that throughout the match almost every kicker's legs were touched in some way by a defender. The Bunker only rules when it feels like it. In other words, if you wanted to corrupt a result you only need to get to The Bunker.
2. Canberra score a match-winning try in Golden Point and celebrate the win. It was a magic experience for Canberra fans, and all non-Bronco supporters. Everybody was delighted.... But no, The Bunker can't let the match be decided by what our eyes saw. We have to go forensic, and after dusting fingerprints The Bunker ruled a Canberra player had touched the ball. It looked to go backwards, but no. The Bunker, which can't rule the ball goes forward when it's passed, ruled the ball was knocked on. So. Stop the celebrations. Match to proceed.
If for no other reason, The Bunker must be removed because is a killer of sponteneity, which is what our sport is about. It ruined this match for every RL lover, except Donkey supporters.
Can you imagine the riot that would have happened if this happened in front of a Bulldogs crowd?

Ok thanks saw the end bit but didn’t know Klown gifted them 2 points at the end of regulation. Faders only had themselves to blame anyway Fogarty missing easy conversion and going missing

Do you know what I was more interested in to tell the truth??

Jamal Fogarty's piss poor game management when Canberra got to a 28–12 lead. Very reminiscent of Manly's collapses in the past couple of years. A 16 point collapse too......

He was pretty ineffective from about 60 minutes in.

They were both correct calls by the bunker. You can’t follow through and make contact with a players legs when he attempts a field goal (we’ve been on both sides of this), and Jed Stuart clearly made contact with the ball that went forward into the Brisbane player.

…and who cares if Canberra were celebrating the win? The bunker has to review dangerous contact when attempting a field goal and has to review the match winning try.

I don't think i have seen a penalty been sent 10 m in front of posts though, for that action.

So headbutts are now legal.

That should be fun in the next brew ha ha between players.

Just run in , massive head butt on your opposite number and nothing happens.

Bring it on.

Finals experience helped the Broncos. Raiders being newcomers choked.

The buck stops with the coach... Under Ricky they've made the finals in 2016, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2025... and missed the finals the other 6 seasons he's been there as coach. They've got plenty of players who've been there for multiple finals campaigns.

You do realise Walsh got binned, yeah?
So, not legal.
And you can’t really say it was massive, not even sure about contact, Young thought it was funny, then decided to throw himself on the ground, it’s a poor look for the game and the individuals involved in milking penalties, not excusing Walsh’s brain explosion, pretty stupid, wonder if the match review committee will take any action?
