The Penriff Leaker

Real question is what Bozo saw in Baz to so quickly flick 2v, instead of making Baz an assisstant coach

I don't blame Baz for his limitations, he was promoted to a position that is just above him :shake:

Just like some expect Fainu to be a first grader by getting an NRL jersey 😕

Waste of 3 years at Manly :swear:

I'm starting to think this whole mess is because Gus wanted Barrett, and Barrett wanted Gus, and it's still happening, and everyone else is being taken for a ride , INCLUDING Cleary from The Tigers.

If that's the case, then what Trent has done is actually worse than that of Des Hasler (who both left after winning a Grand Final, AND after Penn and his cronies instituted those famous K.P.I.'s).

It will speak mountains about Trent Barrett's true character (and hopefully the players hate him for it). I just feel the mercenary nature of rugby league is both tolerated and accepted as the norm though now, and it will mean nothing to the playing group.

While I DO agree that Trent deserves better facilities and staff, I'm starting to believe guys, this is all an act to get him in Panthers colours and the rest of the world is being fed proverbial sausage rolls as Peter Peters would say.

We'll see this off season. If Trent ends up at Penrith, we've all to a tee (owners, front office, playing group, fans, sponsors, the club) have been made suckers of by Gus and Barrett, and are probably very stupid to have bought it.

I personally know a few Panthers fans who are scared sh$#less about Barrett going there!! It is a good thing that Gus got rid of Griffin, huh? They have been playing so well lately. What a statement!!! Maybe Griffin was right when he said Gus was a bigger dinosaur than he was. Wouldn't it be great if Barrett goes to the Panthers and it all implodes again. It would make what we went through this year somewhat palatable.

Gus sent him to Manly to gain some work experience. I think he was always meant to return at some stage. And I thought Bozo was supposed to be a shrewd operator? A genuine case of rope-a-dope from Gus!!! LOL!!

What a great way to slip into a Saturday morning.
I'd come down to the big smoke that weekend for my nieces 16th. She being a Mad Panthers fan wanted to go to Brookie with me and her Dad (Manly fan). She was absolutely loving it at half time, giving me and her old man heaps.
Then it started, passes were sticking, BKs offloads were working. Micheal Witt was having a great half. The niece was practically in tears by now, so I'd eased up on her, only to have her old man say to me she'd been giving it to him all week, and Birthday or not, she was going to learn about what a never say die attitude is. Poor kid, by the end of the onslaught she was in tears. Meanwhile me and her old man were dancing around like crazy men.
It's these memories you have on file ready to go when we have a season that is better forgotten like this one.@:)

It seemed obvious to me that once news broke that Barrett and Gus were talking about Barrett's future, that he was Penrith bound next season.

And nothing has changed since to make me reconsider that opinion.

I'd be happy to pick up Maloney and Merrin for sure. Great players and Merrin especially has been shafted, being pushed to 30 minutes a game. He could be a 65 m UK note prop for us or alternate with Jake at 13. And Maloney, love the guy.
If DCE wants to stay with Barrett we will give Penrith both of them fir Maloney and Merlin,

Gould is in complete denial that there is any problem at penrith

X-rays confirm Dean Whare fractured left arm. Wayde Egan (knee) Tyrone Peachey (knee) both battled through game injured. Couldn’t be replaced. Warriors played well, but not much went Panthers way. Actually saw some positive signs despite the scoreline. Regroup. On again next week

After my avid support for him over these past three years, it will absolutely hurt, and piss me off at the same time.

I can safely say that I only supported Barrett because as our coach.....if he succeeded then Manly succeeded.

That hasn't happened. Its been the opposite in fact.

I'm starting to think that Gould sold Bozo on Barrett so that Trent would get first grade coaching experience somewhere else other than at Penrith where being a rookie coach would potentially harm the Panther's chances. And now that he has the experience, regardless of the lack of results which they seem to have convinced themselves is everything but Barrett's fault, he's on his way back to Penrith.

For anyone who keeps bagging Tommy for his positioning at fullback and his defence.....just watch this clip. At about the same relative points of their careers, on this day while we were playing like crap and Penrith looked like world beaters, Snake was making the same positional and defensive errors that Tommy currently makes and gets heavily critisised for.

And we all know how Snake turned out.
