Pretty happy with all of that, Aaron Woods extending means we will actually be paying for him next year which isnt ideal.
Not sure how big of a pay cut DCE took on his contract extension but Turbo could be our only million dollar man next year which hopefully means a more balanced roster.
If DCE wants to win another premiership he HAS to take a pay cut. The bloat on his contract is killing our depth.

If Turbo is fair dinkum he will do the same.

Really, another tigers reject. They did really well 2nite.
The point was he'd be my pick of the Tigers' rejects. That was what we were discussing.

To be honest, I would have liked him at Manly this year. Now he's been tainted by the Tigers, I'm not so sure. In fact, I'd be happy if we put a moratorium in place to stop us from signing ANYONE else from the Tigers for at least the next five years. (Except maybe for Josh Feledy, I'd take him back. And as a Manly junior, he wouldn't count anyway.)

100 percent agree. It’s a place where losing and bad habits are ingrained without the walls. We need players who come from a winning culture not players who have lost 90 percent of their games and from a mental perspective don’t know how to win

Yeah this talk of premiership window is absolutely ludicrous. If we are in a premiership window, then who isn't??

Seriously, you need to be top 4 pretty consistently to publicly state this sh*te. Keep your mouths shut, and heads down. Work, work, work, and show with your actions. Talk is cheap. We're 13th out of 17 teams.

It would be hilarious if we weren't Manly supporters
Every time Scott Penn opens his mouth, I wish he wouldn't. But I guess his logic is solid: if we already have a "premiership roster", then we must be in a "premiership window", right?

But really, string a few wins together before we get carried away.

Looks like we still in the market for a prop; we need a quality bone cruncher in the Fisher-Harris, Big Nelson mould - who is out there though?

The way contracts are ignored all of them - can we have Payne Hass?

Every time he says "premiership window" I get filled with the hope that he wants a Premiership so he can sell.

Two birds, one stone.

Would love Luke Thompson, off contract and would be a good workmanlike complement to the guys we have.
Mavrik Geyer from the Panthers would be a good pick, been pretty good for their Reggie's and is behind their deep roster of backrowers
On a dev contract this year and would not break the bank.
I prefer Mavrik’s brother Guse (since the Geyer family cannot spell).

He and Josh Schuster have been attending the same rugba league night school - the Mario Tartak Results Driven Business Academy.

Obviously it is all hypothetical....
If the article is legit and all the re-signings are correct,it would mean there are 32 players signed to a top 30 contract for next year(including the new arrivals).
Some will have to go,it looks like the 2 Fainus brothers will probably go.
The rest in regards to Fulton,Keppie and Tuilagi who were mentioned is just speculation.
I doubt Tuilagi will be let go,he was put straight back into the starting line up upon return from injury.
Seebs seems to like stacking the bench with forwards and with BenT and Schu able to play in the backs and Chez or Brooks able to play dummy half in an emergency,I think he might stay.
Keppie and Fulton I feel might be let go.
Means our top 30 in almost sorted for next year(if article is legit).

Heard discussion on NRL 360 that DCE is on about 800 from next year, which is good considering Moses is on 1.6. Daly will probably (and rightly he deserves his time because Thurston wanted his teammate from the cows Morgan) keep playing for QLD and get extra match payments and endorsements from that as the captain (all the beer stuff and chemist warehouse etc. Captain is guaranteed picked so they can do promotional stuff early in the year (whoops blues and Teddy, possibly Cleary too!) But with Brooks, Schuster and Arthur it's not so much of a strain as it could have been.

I think we’re in more of a premiership A380 open hangar door, or maybe a Vertical Assembly Building open door.

Here’s the VAB at Cape Kennedy/Canaveral in its heyday:

No, just no. A few points:

1. That STILL doesn't address hooker. Croker is FANTASTIC (leadership, effort, attitude - but he is NOT a specialized hooker, and opposition teams take advantage of that).

2. I see NO reason to be re-upping Woods, if you're letting Keppie go. Ridiculous decision. STOP letting young, quality players GO like Tuitavake, Fifita, Fainu 1, Fainu 2, Fainu 3, and signing plonkers like Woods - the guy runs the 50 in 15 (and I'm not talking seconds !). On that note, Tuilagi put the plonk in plonker - get rid of him (and he can take his friend Aloiai with him).

3. If your backline is Tommy, Saab, Garrick, Koula & Paulo - with Weekes (and Talau) the backups, loyalty and warms n fuzzies aside, there's no room for Parker, Tuipulotu & Vaega. Use that money on a hooker and forwards !

4. Zac Fulton, Morgan Boyle & Morgan Harper leaving is fine, they are surplus to demands. Paseka getting a long term deal is great. Schuster should be playing lock. Please do NOT put Jake back there, he is far too slow.

5. Yes, we need a prop, but if our forwards continue to get slow(ish) ball distributed to them, and we don't have a solid kicking option, with some bursting speed out of 9, our forwards will continue to get dominated. Ballin wasn't the quickest player, but his distribution was lightning fast, which made up for this, and he could KICK.

6. Ideally, keep Samuela. Jesus, the loyalty and support we showed that damned family through the crap, surely we can keep ONE.

Next season (if the BOLD embarrassing claim given our current position, is that we are entering into a premiership window - reminds me of Todd Boehley claiming Chelsea were going to win the Champions League game 3-0), we need to look at something like this:

01. Tom Trbojevic
02. Jason Saab
03. Reuben Garrick
04. Tolu Koula
05. Jaxson Paulo
06. Luke Brooks
07. Daly Cherry-Evans
08. NEW (Marquee)
09. NEW (Marquee)
10. Jake Trbojevic
11. Haumole Olakau'atu
12. Kelma Tuilagi
13. Josh Schuster

14. Gordon Chan Kum Tong
15. Taniela Paseka
16. Josh Aloiai
17. Ethan Bullemor

Not sure about the players in the gap spots. I've left out Keppie (even though I think he should be there). I've left IN players I think should go (like Aloiai & Tuilagi). If you're filling those spots with players like Woods, Ben Trbojevic, we'll see more mediocrity.

Where is this claim about being in a premiership window coming from? They are obviously blind to where we really are, and that claim is embarrassing to the club. We are closer to challenging for a bloody wooden spoon right now ! Our 8-17 players are bog average (based on an upgrade to our 1-7 next season). Are the club really this out of touch with reality?

Great post , key point is the 9 , the fowards we have would look a lot better with a proper 9 running them onto the ball
Is that GT ? I don’t know as I have mentioned b4 Peter Mamzoulas would be my pick and I think in our budget 400k ish
