The storm have..

And I might add, Bellamy has a lot of people around him doing a lot of things. His main role is to coach, and the only time he’s coached without his superstars he go his ars hole handed back to him on a plate. NSW showed him to be what he his. A good coach who has had the benefit of doing so with some of the best players in the game. But when it came to nullifying those players, even with his inside knowledge of their games, he failed miserably. Case closed.
Melb do have depth in resources this is where the money side has helped him out greatly, Manly run on a shoe string budget in this area.

OK now you've lost me..................there's no way Bellamy made them stars!
KW777 post is right, some people are going to be stars (even if Laurie Daley is coaching them)

Anyway you need to end this "discussion" and accept you are wrong, I find myself agreeing with KW777 and consequently surpressing the urge to be physically sick!!
Oh come on man. There’s been plenty of water under the Spit Bridge since you and I butted heads.

Melb changed the way the game is played in attack and defence, the way the game is analyzed, recruitment strategies and team composition etc etc for the last decade, to the point of every team copying and still not bettering.

It's easier when you have plenty of cash, one Green turd. and 3 of the best players to play the game in your back pocket!

I'm no debating expert......but this does seem to contradict your argument........the money maketh the team as much as Bellamy!
As stated before give the same amount of resources to most other coaches and they will still perform badly---most coaches in the past have no idea of what wins games.

Melb definitely benefited from all the resources available to them but salary cap wise they were a product of the environment of the time.

Why do you put "cheated" in inverted commas as if you are saying it is an implication?

That is a cold hard fact

It is inverted for other reasons, to me they didn't cheat
Well if that's your moral compass at work, good luck to people you deal with in business.

For most footy fans it is crystal clear, our clubs were dudded by Storm's dishonesty. (And Dogs dishonesty before them, and Eels dishonesty.)

I suppose we just aren't smart enough to appreciate the sophisticated reasoning behind your stance.

Basically almost every team has had some form of salary cap breach and many several times over---you are in a delusional state of mind if you think it is not the norm.

I don't think it is cheating in terms of "relative to the vast majority competing in the competition" but i do from a "would i do it" stand point.

No point elaborating any further, do the research without a blinkered point of view and you will wake up to the reality.

You are missing the point, every other club had the opportunity to spot this talent but they didn't for the most part.

Someone who is over-rated is Wayne Bennett, just a good man manager and nothing more.

BS. You don't think that their ability to recruit Smith, Slater and Cronk without losing any of them to other clubs had nothing to do with their systemic rorting of the cap?

Conversely do you think Melb would rort the cap by such an extent if outside pressure factors inflating the players values didn't exist by not as many clubs as you think.

On a lighter note, I admire TC for sticking to his guns on many issues in the face of hostile public opinion.
But in this case, the defence for Storm -..'aw I reckon every club was cheating to the same degree, they just didn't get caught' is, well, you know, lame!! You like their play TC but they cheated, accept it.
