Joke is up for umpire impersonators
August 26, 2005 - 9:09AM

A cheeky umpire impersonation has cost two England cricket fans dearly.

The two men donned white coats and hats and were somehow able to get onto the Trent Bridge wicket before the fourth Test between Australia and England started.

The pair stood on the wicket and at one stage walked across it, yet officials and security personnel only realised they were not the real umpires when one of the men took off a set of bails and put a can of beer on top of the stumps.

But their good humour waned when they were escorted off the ground, evicted and arrested by police on the grounds of aggravated trespass.

I cant believe people get arrested for stuff like this!

Where have peoples sense of humour gone?

Like the guy who got in Man Utd team photo a couple of years ago, and walked out in full batting gear at Lords.

something Power I think his name was, piss funny
