This is where we are.

Get over it. A finals finish is a great result for this team this year. It's like 2005 but without a hardened veteran. Well we had one but he wasn't that hardened and still haven't seen him play for the storm.

Next year will be better. And the year after that.

Peace out bug lovers. Jones beat Cormier so I have had a ****ty afternoon in front of the box but life's pretty good other than that.

Top post champ, the team has exceeded most peoples expectations and with some signings forthcoming next season it will be even better.

Good point, we are above or on par where most saw us ending up this year.

I hope we can win a finals game and learn from it for a crack in the next 2 years.

I was going to post something similar. Even when we were around 3rd I didn't quite see us as top 4 team, my prediction was 5th. We just don't quite have what it takes to be top 4.

My big concern with games against the storm and the roosters wasn't that we would lose, but if we did, and lost big, it could really affect our confidence against the so called lesser lights like the Tigers, Warriors and we don't even win those.

The reality is we have overachieved up to about 3 weeks ago. Whilst I think the last two weeks has been diabolical, I thought this period would be season defining.

One thing I don't agree with is some posters saying we shouldn't even make the 8 as we will be cannon fodder. Whilst we may, it's all about building. The trbojevics, Kelly, Sironen, taupau etc all need semi final experience. Even if that is a loss. Remember 05? A hammering week 1 to the eels. 06.....we make week 2. (All the time gathering experience), 07 gf, 08 premiers.

Where there is life there is hope, and whilst we are are battered in the last two weeks, we are still alive.

Rebuilding .....sure....but in my opinion we got a long way to go
Out of today's 17, I reckon 8 of them wouldn't get a game at any other NRL club.

2. Matthew Wright
4. Brian Kelly
11. Frank Winterstein
18. Lewis Brown
12. Shaun Lane
14. Cameron Cullen
16. Darcy Lussick
17. Addin Fonua-Blake

Seems to me a lot of personnel changes needed!

Its just dissapointing to lose like we have. We are a much better side than that. Storm are miles ahead of every other team atm but we have shown we can beat all other sides in the 8 if we play as a team and to our potential but what we just witnessed was pathetic, especially after last week. We have shown a lot, lot more than that and its hard to watch getting over 90 points put on us in 2 weeks.

Need to someone win a few games sneak into the 8 with a full strength side and see what happens? Our confidence looks shot though!

I hear you. And I am as disappointed as the next person. My wife and kids know when I'm yelling and screaming....I'm enjoying the game. Yelling support, screaming at the opposition....you know general fan behaviour. They know when I watch a game and I'm deathly silent....something is wrong. Today for the majority of the 2nd half I was like that. Limp is probably the best description I can come up with my attitude in that 2nd half, I just felt so lack lustre.

I can always handle a loss. But not a meek loss. Go down swinging has always been my motto.

We have what it takes to be top 4 but we just aren't consistent enough for the top 4. I have a feeling that the sides lacks consistenty due to inexperience, so with time that should fix. Still 5 weeks to go, 10 points on offer.

I pay membership for a family of 6 every year so I expect results every year.
For all you who say next year will be better then stuff you. I live today, this year and pay for this year.
I dont pay for a 5 year plan.
If that's the case, then hand me back my hard earned and I'll pay when u dicks think when we will be better

I think we need realism though too. Sure we all want results. But for me when we haven't made the top 8 for two years, a good result is top 8. I think expecting a premiership is setting yourself up for a big fall.

Do you think then the NRL should implement a payment structure that the 15 clubs who don't win refund their members?

I been ranting silly for 2 hours but certainly young ryan's day changed my perspective. Yes its 2005 all over again, we are not a finished product by any form.
It would be a shame if we missed finals but either way we have over achieved.
What we have a good spine, added with a quality fowards in jake and marty plus walker and aku.
What we lack a hard nosed centre and 2nd rower make those important runs on edge ala choc.
What a risk blooding young kid in kelly not ready for firsts and no real nrl standard 2nd rowers.

No mate I don't pay the nrl I pay the seaeagles to support their front office in giving me the best enjoyment and return possible.
Now I never said premierships every year and as much as I would love that I'm a realist but in saying that
I wouldn't mind a fair bit more than they have dished up the last few weeks.
Who cares about next year because by then there may be another excuse.

I know what you mean, but I personally pay for improvement, as those incremental steps are what gets us to premierships.
