Three offers to buy Manly - Rejected

The worry is these prospective purchasers are not really wanting to buy the Brookvale Oval based Manly Sea Eagles, but are instead wanting to get hold of a NRL franchise licence. Once they have the licence they can move it elsewhere and rename the team at will.

Interesting point that , might be right but mightn’t be either ( and not having a go at you by saying that).

As much as I know that the NRL would love a couple of sides less in Sydney I doubt they’d approve one area to not have a side at all.

I still believe the two sides at most risk are Sharks / West’s Tigers.

The Football club hold a preference share that prevents that scenario occurring

Dean Ritchie. LOL. Didn't he get found out last year for making up that story about the Norths consortium allegedly making an offer to buy Manly. Good to see he is still on the payroll doing the Penns PR work.

Can't remember the exact figures now but didn't he sell a share of his company to those other two businessmen (whose names escape me know) which valued the Manly NRL licence at $20mil or something
I was under the impression that Penn owns around 90 percent and The Football Club the remainder

I have the impression that these guys are Manly people and as such are prepared to put their money where their mouth is, so I doubt it very much that they will be seeking to relocate the team anywhere

I just read that the owners of URM, Anthony and Carolyn Johnston, have put their Georgian estate at Hunters Hill on the market for an estimated $30-Million, which if attained would smash all price records on the north side of the Harbour.
Good for them. They are great club sponsors.
It sounds like they already have their own Centre of Excellence.
There is money in muck.
