Misconception. Qld doesn't hate Daly. Qld love origin.

If DCE plays and Qld lose, different story. If DCE plays and DCE wins, happy days for Qld. It's unfolding a bit like the Jamie Lyon saga, and I'd love it to play out the same.

Remember when Jamie played, NSW lost and he was made the scapegoat? He never played again and I applaud him for that! I wouldn't mind seeing that happen with DCE. (Sorry Daly, forgive me mate)

As much as I think Cherry deserves to be there, if Thurston is out I can see them going with Morgan at 5/8 and bringing Milford in onto the bench.

Every time he's been mentioned, Walters has always started talking up others like Milford, Morgan and even Hunt.

You may well be right, but IMO it would be a dumb move to go with Morgan as JT's replacement, ditto Hunt. Both of these guys play 'straight man' to the more creative, X-factor type half (Thurston and Milford respectively); Cronk is also the 'straight man' half, so ideally you'd pick a DCE or Milford to partner him when Thurston is unavailable.

DCE has been done no favours in the past by being called up to replace Cronk; two creative halves didn't work - I know Queenslanders aren't famous for their intellect, but perhaps they've learned from the 'two JTs' experiment, and won't go for 'two Cronks'.

@yokahontas I always said that DCE would have worked better in Origin alongside Cronk instead of Thurston. Even though they said that he had a free hand to play how he did for Manly, every man and his dog could see that Cherry was expected to play Cronk's organiser role and leave the brilliance to Thurston and that is just not his game.

I was going to say that myself - he has done better coming off the bench and playing at lock for Qld. It's gotta be tough to be expected to play your own position, but play it totally differently to what you normally do - especially when you tend to be a great 'instinct' player rather than a great 'structure' player. It's easier just to be chucked into a completely different role and told 'this is how you play this position'.

Why would you give Milford the 6? Why would you move Cronk from 7?

I have no idea, but I think being so certain DCE will be picked is optomistic

I think if DCE is picked he will be 6 - no way they move Cronk. Milford is a big show; however, given his banning from the team last year for his curfew indiscretion and the fact DCE has been there before, is in form and has been mentioned by Kevvie numerous times as the next likely half for QLD - I'd say he is in the box seat.

The Manly v Broncos game could be the final determiner - if Milford has a blinder and DCE a shocker - Milford might get it. If the performances are equal or DCE plays better - I'd say it is his (if Thurston really doesn't play).

Then again the above dribble could all be a load of codswallop dressed up in a tinkerbell outfit.
