Ticketmaster & NRL Semi Tickets at Brookie (the stuff ups)

There were some stuff ups. The Ticketmaster site never really told in advance what were the ticket pricing & maps 24 hours, 12 hours, or 1 hour before selling to members. Then selling every General Admission ticket as Standing Only why? It just discouraged families turning up including the Northern Hill (Alcohol Free) tickets selling all of those tickets as Standing Only.

But something why not explained the prices were going up 40% or more on game day or at the Gates. Here was the actual sign from the actual Box Office turning up at the game yesterday (prices you were meet with):

All Category 1 or 2 Seats were sold out. No one bought them on the gates? The spare seats in the Jane Try Stand were NRL sponsors or VIP tickets not used in the end? (very wasteful).

The Premium GA tickets for $65 for a Wooden Bench & not a reserve seat (really was a bit of joke price on the day!).

Also the Sea Eagles with Ticketmaster really need to address the $7.25 a transaction fee in 2020. The AFL makes sure this is much less like $3. You can’t buy 1 or 2 tickets in advance and charge a ridiculous processing fee for GA type ticket. It doesn’t encourage people to buy tickets in advance.

NRL control all the finals games, they become the hirer rather than the club and love to line their pockets.
Agree on the transaction fees, they are an absolute joke for pretty much every event.

https://www.choice.com.au/shopping/everyday-shopping/tickets/articles/the-problems-with-ticketing

When CHOICE looked into ticketing back in 2009, we found these exclusivity agreements with venues were constricting competition.

At that time, we wrote: "To get exclusive ticketing rights, these companies have to pay the venue owners 'key money', which they recoup through high ticket profit margins. The result is a duopoly that does little for competitive pricing… event owners and producers may have a choice of venue, but they have no choice of ticket seller when the exclusive ticketing rights of the venue have been signed over to a particular ticketing agency."

Alarm bells over ticketing have continued to sound ever since.

Those empty seats looked terrible , and were a total waste.

Really has to be brought to the NRL’s attention.

Added to that, ticketed members unable to get the seats they usually sit in.

I work in the IT industry so nobody can convince me that it can’t be done.
The code we use is tied to specific seats that Ticketmaster could have simply defaulted to - too easy to do :nerd:

They managed it properly the last time we had a home semi. Seated members got the option to buy their seats for the semi. Why now, years later, with all the advances in technology couldn’t they do it. I would say it was more that they chose not to rather than couldn’t. It was a total insult to loyal members. I understand it happened at the rorters/souffs game also. Major fail nrl

Ticketmaster could have done it but wanted extra $ and most likely the NRL refused as it would have hurt their revenue.

So much for enhancing the fan experience.

So on the nrl website it states........

NRL Same Seat Ticketed Member Information

For those Finals games being hosted by the Storm, Eels or Souths at their home venue during the premiership season, Ticketed members of the home team have the opportunity to purchase the same seat they sit in during the regular season. This option is available between 10am - 1pm each Monday. For each seat you are looking to purchase, you will need to enter a specific password to redeem. For example, if you are purchasing 4 tickets, you will need to enter the 4 corresponding passwords.
