I find Greenberg so passive aggressive. If i was a coach i would be incensed by this muppet. NRL management is just like an oppressive socialist government, trying to stem the flow of debate and negative press. And instead portray an exciting entertainment product (yawn..). The real issue is not the coaches complaining. The problem is the interpretation of the rules (the way the game is refereed) and the rules themselves. To be fair it's pretty hard to pick his finest moment, his great achievements so far can be counted on the fingers of one foot. For me his greatest moment is yet to come when he retires or is more likely sacked.

Ive always thought that someone should take the 'fines' to court to test their legality.

If the coaches were bringing the game into disrepute, or defaming someone, I understand the need to penalise. The NRL force coaches to front a presser every game, and then enforce a gag rule.

Really a pathetic and reprehensible position for Greenburg to take in attempting to defend the indefensible. His claim or premise that Baz and Flanagan do not have a legitimate and justified right and entitlement to correctly question and complain with the inadequate officiating in their respective matches just defies credibility and reason . To also just show real contempt and lack of empathy for the affected clubs , players and fans is equally unacceptable , and i am sure that the Eels would have been also incensed if they were eliminated last week with similar dodgy calls . At least Rothfield"s R L article in my local N Q .paper did provide a more realistic perspective and in contrast with Kent "s inept effort last night . Maybe there could be some form of a public petition to put the onus and pressure right back on Greenburg and his cronies to hold them to at least some type of account and proper responsibility and competence .
