Tom Trbojevic was a Legend

I’m looking hard, I can see Tom but not the legend.
Let’s save that type of status for those who have earnt it and deserve that accolade.
For those that have played and won grand finals but most certainly not Tom who only averaged 10 games a year.
just my opinion, time for Tom to retire.

Did people expect him to take 3 hits up a set, jump into first or second receiver for the other 2 plays then put up the kick and chase through and catch it himself ?

It’s wild that people expect him to have a top level performance, let alone dominate a game, behind a non existent pack and halves that were nowhere to be seen last night

Pleasing part tho, ran out with no leg strapping. Ground was wet underfoot, so that would of hampered his running somewhat. A dry track should see him running stronger and faster next Sat night.
Sounds like a form guide for a racehorse...LOL.

It isnt wild with the money he is on. I dont expect him to do all of the above, but others might.

But hang on, he was sometimes taking 2 hit ups a set... no need for that. That is the coach failing him and the team, it's obviously in their game plan.

Neither Jake or Tom are worthy of the current contracts anymore. That is just life as you get continually injured ad get older. IMO opinion Tom will never be more than 70% going forward.

People forget Olakau’atu is on big money as well, his consistency isn’t great at the moment, and the Eels rookie backrower overshadowed him big time last night

People that think that coaches do not make any differences to their players or their team or their Clubs culture .
Also need to look at the way Some coaches over achieve with their Modest Playing Rosters

The Quality Coach Proof has Always been ...
Winning is not only about what Quality players you have
Winning is all about lifting your players to their potential and having them playing a Quality style that wins games

The Moral of the story
Coaches do make a difference
They either underachieve or Overachieve

How many times did Arthur give him ball, let alone good ball.
Arthur was Dreadfully poor
How many times has Seibold seen him at NSW cup Level ?

Our best option to cover DCE would have been Turbo 5/8 Brooks Half
A Fit Hoppa to cover at Fullback

With sadness I say we are not a top 8 side. Our middle defence last night was at times embarrassing against the side that was running last. If we keep putting in efforts like that we are a chance for our first spoon.
But, but hold on ...... our owner thinks we are on a ****ing premiership window ....

About the only negative in the game against Melbourne was Turbos lack of fitness, apathy or both in defence when having to turn around.

Take the 2nd last try, where Garrick ran all the way down his wing, then across the field to try and tackle Coates.
Or the much maligned by Neville's, Saab ran across from his wing to try and stop the movement, however the inside ball to a full running Coates made it impossible to turn around and catch him.

Meanwhile, Tommy is just jogging in the background - you can see him 10m behind Coates, and this is after Saab ran right across the field past Tom.

Thoughts?

To be honest with you, the slow trailing DCE had caught my attention last night.

This is the issue with moving him to the centres. At fullback he would average around 4-5 tackles a game. His past 3 games after moving to the centres,he’s gone 15,28 and 24 tackles.Thats a big jump for someone that’s played FB for his whole career

Video won’t play 🤦‍♂️😅 got me

Remember when turbo would be unstoppable 10m out.
Or when he would make a bust in the middle of the field
Or when he was a threat with bombs.

Those were days.
In terms of performance, it’s his worst ever season. I know there have been worse seasons for injuries but around those periods of injury, he’s shown sparks. This year, he’s shown his body is falling apart and the speed is gone.
