Tommy Talau

Talau may be a back, but there's a big part of his game that has been missed - Aggression !!
Talau runs with extra vigour and though no matai, when he hits often slugs them pretty hard which is better than what our forwards, let alone our backs do ..... apart from Haumole.
Look forward to getting him back, but needs to be fully fit which I believe he "almost" is.

Speaking of Aggression
Where was the aggression from Jake our forward leader and and out spoken Manly lover that would never leave the club ?
Last week Jake left us Guessing
Time to Walk the Talk Jake and put in a credible effort against the Sharks

I honestly don't know what has happened to Jakes defence....is he concentrating so hard prematurely he needs to "Get off Jake" that he is not ripping in like Jake of old with those drivining rib rattlers ?
This was not "just" the Storm game, but pretty much the entire season.
Jake really is a Top bloke and will always remember doing a music clip that he went out of his way to hang out chatting, even after the video and with the kids, he was everything you expect from what he puts across in interviews and so on....in fact, even better in person and he scored a try that next game as I requested for my footy bet
This is what makes it hard, as if it was just another Manly player I would likely be far tougher in observation, but as is I just stick by Jake as he bleeds Manly, and is 1 of few in the Manly side I see do this.

Jurbo. Great bloke. Has been a great player. The best defender of his era. But time catches up with everyone. He now needs to discuss the best way to serve his term. For me, it's to play prop. Start for 25 minutes and tackle his heart out. Then keep him in reserve, and if the match is tight give him a second stint to bolster a tiring defence.
By playing less minutes it would prolong his career, and his salary would be commensurate with his on-field action.

Love Jake but i reckon there is a chance this contract could be his last. I think he will be 32 at the start of 2026.

Geeez, you're a bit hard on the bloke. He puts his body on the line week after week. You can cut him some slack if one week his body says - hey maybe I need a bit of a back seat for a week. He has other issues (like being painfully slow) but having a go at him by saying it's time to walk the talk, is a bit cr*ppy.

Wally Lewis said the hardest he had ever been tackled was by Terry Randall. The whole fibro silvertails rilvary was Masters trying to get his team to stand up to Randall because he put the fear of god into all of them .Randall also laid out english hard man Jim Mills on the kangaroo tour in the early 70s which started his legacy as the hardest man in the game.

I don't remember Terry Randal missing many tackles. One tough hombre and quite a sensible chap! I wish we had a couple of Terry Randals in our pack present day.
One tough hombre for sure .
Was starting to lose a bit of ommp and resilience the last couple of seasons of his career in around 81 , 82 but after almost 10 seasons being one of the real hard men at A R L level for Manly and on the international stage at times , little wonder
Outstanding career and of course a Manly junior to boot
