As no good as it is , we showed enough guts to get us through the next few weeks without him . Better off him coming back fully fit and once we are firing full on .

Bad news for Tommy Trbojevic ... still has to see specialist but scans suggest hamstring injury is worse than original one. Possibly 8 weeks out ... putting Origin selection in the firing line #nrl

Will have to get rid of Turbo, running on old legs now, bloody useless...........

Jokes,
its a shame, just get him right 100% before bringing him back, hopefully the rest of the lads can show the same steely resolve with slightly better ball control in the meantime.
Speedy recovery Turbo but more so make sure you dont come back unless 100%....He must be so frustrated.

I’m of the belief he should be rested for a considerable time, if they say 2 months give him 3.

This is a build year anyway so I’d rather he be 110% than brought back too early.

Tom Trbojevic could miss up to nine weeks for Manly after re-injuring the hamstring which hindered his start to the season.

The Manly superstar had scans on his left hamstring on Sunday afternoon, having left the field in the second half of the Sea Eagles' shock win over Souths at Lottoland.

The Herald understands the scans have revealed a strain which will sideline him for at least six weeks.

The worst case, though, could keep the fullback sidelined for up to nine weeks.

Manly fans will be devastated by the news but the severity of the injury will also be cause for concern for NSW Origin coach Brad Fittler.

There are just eight weeks between now and the first Origin clash in Brisbane, making Trbojevic an unlikely starter.

If the 22-year-old is able to return in six weeks, rather than nine, Fittler said on Nine's Sunday Footy Show his remarkable return against the Warriors a fortnight ago was enough evidence to suggest he could feature with very little football under his belt in the lead-up.

"It's 59 days until Origin, 49 days until you pick the team," Fittler said. "That still gives him about eight weeks.

"You could see by the way he played last week against the Warriors in his comeback game... he would have been picked on that performance."

How Manly coach Des Hasler will replace the attacking void Trbojevic leaves remains to be seen.

Brendan Elliot was the man Hasler called upon to feature in the fullback jersey in Trbojevic's absence for the first two games of the season.

There were times there where elliot looked comfortable at fullback i have faith in him.Tommy should not be rushed back but definitely will be missed.

Losing our best attacking weapon is devastating.

But the 39mins the other day proved there is more to Manly than 1 player.

We are Manly.

I agree mate but it will take a lot of restraint from fans to be patient if things aren't firing. It's just rotten luck and i believe he should be given at least an additional two weeks to get right from the worst case estimate.

**** time for an injury to our most potent attacking weapon. Elliot goes ok, but isn’t a threat at all and we need a threat back there to free up DCE, I’d be tempted to put Garrick there for a game and see how it goes, Elliot poses no threat.

Most of Elliott's stints at fullback have been in the soaking wet. He has speed, so on a dry track he might be more dangerous.
