Uate a Massive loss

Losing Taupau for the next few weeks will be a bigger loss.

The likes of Myles, Lawrence etc are all going to have to lift again like they did against the Cowboys a few weeks back.

I think that Perrett is ready for another call up from what i have seen in reserve grade.

At least this time we are not missing 3 others as well.

Perrett is the obvious choice but it is still a downgrade.

As good as things have been with Barrett lately, I personally think he made a wrong call yesterday.

Sure Wright was solid, but while it might not have changed the outcome I would have played him from the bench, moved Kelly to the wing and started Brown in the centres.

Though in saying that I can understand him putting Wright on Uate's wing as it was less overall disruption to the backline that had been working well.
Surely this is a wake up call that we need one of the bench spots to go to Hastings? Think he was injured but we have plenty of forwards on the bench who can cover each other if someone goes down. Marty can slot to backrow if needed, Jake to the middle etc etc. Need to get Hastings in the side IMO

Your insane! even to mention Brown in the side at all is a joke at best, but putting him in the centre again after last year?

Brown is no centre. He got carved in that role when playing for the Warriors and Panthers, and he's only older and slower now.
The call made was probably the best for stability and isn't the reason for the sides (lack of) effort across the park.

To be fair to Holden v8 I think he was only referring to Brown regarding last minute adjustments before last Saturdays game.

I still think we should have kept Vave. We need another front rower who can bend or break the line. Nothing enough grunt in the forwards.

Yes. I couldn't believe it when i heard that they decided to let him go. He was in our top 3 forwards on a regular basis last year, and i always thought he would be a keeper. If ever there is an opportunity for Perrett and Lane to start playing out of their skins and prove their NRL worth, now is the time, otherwise they will be playing park footy without a doubt next year.

He's gone because he wanted to renegotiate his contract. Went there on around $85K a season. Wanted increase to above $150K plus food. We couldn't afford another $800K a year player.

I believe the slime offered a lot of money. Don't think we could afford to match their offer.
