Last weekend we wound up our cricket season, already had the Premier 2 day Trophy secured going into the final day of the season, so we took the day a bit easier and after setting them a target that was probably out of reach we decided that we'd have a go at them for a few overs then give all the part timers a run to finish the season. What happened next nobody was expecting !!

Here's the scorebook for the amazing final innings of the season for the Premier men. Some statistical highlights of note:

- 5 wickets fell with the total on 4
- at one stage Riccarton were 4/8 after 12 overs
- they were then 9/9 after 18 overs
- 8 batsmen in a row (Nos. 2 to 9) made ducks
- 6 batsmen were dismissed leg before wicket
- Riccarton's entire innings was composed of 6 scoring shots
- Michael Davidson had figures of 6-1 off 6 overs at one point
- Kyle Jamieson had figures of 3-3 off 9 overs at one point
- Riccarton were bowled out for 17 in 21.2 overs in 85 minutes
- It is the 2nd lowest total of all-time in Christchurch Premier men's cricket. It is only 'beaten' by Riccarton's 15 v Sydenham in 1911/12.
- It is the lowest total St Albans have bowled any team out for in Premier 2-day cricket, beating the 35 we dismissed Old Collegians for in 1984/85.

The Premier men went through their 2-day competition unbeaten, winning 5 of 7 games and falling 1 and 4 wickets short of victory with plenty of runs in the bank in the other 2.

That's awesome!

+ I hadn't seen a good ol cricket score sheet in years.

Well done.

Lol yeah our scorer does a pretty decent job on the book !! We fine him if any white out is used though ;)

Cheers mate, was a long season but a good one in the end, glad it's over and done with now though other than a couple of awards nights !!

The lowest innings total I've ever been a part of was low 40's and that was humiliating enough, can't imagine being rolled for less than 20. Wicket doing a bit or were they just not interested ?? I see the 2 No Balls cost you equallling the club record.

We made 285 on the wicket so it couldn't have been all bad lol. Our opener is an amazing bowler, just comes in off a few paces some days but always produces, and the guy at the other end is 6 foot 8 and destined for higher honours so not an easy attack to face, and after they lost their best guys the rest looked lost on how to play and we just picked them off, we were slightly disappointed not to get them for 9 with the dropped catch lol

See some club side in England got rolled for 3 including 2 no balls. 10 ducks !!! That would be a hefty day for the fines committee in our team.

LONDON: England's cricketers may have suffered the embarrassment of a World Twenty20 defeat by the Netherlands and a 5-0 Ashes thrashing in Australia but even they were never bowled out for three as has happened to one club side.

Wirral, from north-west England, were dismissed for just three against Haslington in a Cheshire League Third Division match - with extras the top-scorer courtesy of two leg-byes.

There were 10 ducks in the Wirral innings, with No 11 Connor Hodson, supposedly their worst batsman, the only member of the visitors' side to score a run off the bat.

That Wirral managed three was something of an achievement after they were reduced to eight down for no runs, in an innings that lasted fewer than 10 overs.

Haslington won the match by 105 runs after making only 108 themselves before, as the Stoke Sentinel newspaper reported, "the real drama unfolded after the tea interval".

Wirral's official Twitter feed saw them issue pleas to several ex-England players, including former captain Michael Vaughan and popular television pundit David Lloyd for "a few hours coaching" under the hashtag of #weneedit.
