Des still a drawcard for Foran

If Trent Barrett was to leave Manly - and Des Hasler return in his place - there is no doubt that Kieran Foran would be looking to head back to Brookvale.

By no means is Foran unhappy at Canterbury - or with coach Dean Pay - but the reason he signed there was to be coached by Hasler again. Hasler is currently taking on the Bulldogs in a Supreme Court battle which will determine whether he signed a legally binding contract extension.

Barrett’s own future is clouded. Those close to the Sea Eagles coach have urged him to get out, fearing his reputation will diminish the longer he remains at the embattled club. There is a feeling he has been badly let down during the recent crises and doesn’t have the support required to turn around a 2-6 start to the season.

If Barrett were to leave, it would open the door for a possible homecoming for Hasler. The two-time premiership-winning coach may consider taking ‘unders’ to return if he is successful in his court battle, but he would still be an enormous cost at a time when the Penn family is attempting to stop the financial bleeding.

A Hasler return could solve the club’s halves issues, as Foran would also be keen to reunite with Daly Cherry-Evans.

If Hasler and Foran had just f&@ing stayed in the first place we'd probably have two or three more premierships by now.

He was good enough in 2013. And he would have been better for longer if he'd kept his head screwed on.
Pretty sure he spent most the season out in 2014.. been a land slide since. His body is shot. Let’s see if he lasts the season at the dogs injury wise yet

Make Manly Great Again #Hasler2019
Imagine if we didn’t #sackbarrett and he simple walked......
Looks like even Trent agrees with the #sackbarrett campaign

I don’t by this media spin by the likes of
Hooper and kenty it’s not his fault.

Bull****. He was the one who retired off matai and Stewart when they both wanted to play.

What a joke of a press conference

Barrett said:

- he was happy with the effort

- please how courageous the players were

- made jokes about team selections

- had no answers

- refused to talk about Hastings

Is he for real??? What a ****ing muppet, it’s also no time to make jokes after floggings week after week

Sack this ****ing myth ASAP!!!
Barrett could not pick a root up in a brothel he needs to make way for the next coach who is prepared to fight for his team instead of talking to opposition coaches about his welfare, WHAT A LOSER

When have you ever seen the media attack a club when a coach has a record like Barrett. They usually turn on the coach and get him sacked. Im not blaming this on Trent but, bugger me his nickname should be "Teflon Trent" It looks like the media believe that if it wasn't for Manly he would have won 2 premierships already. It was the same when he played, they always left him out of the tough conversations and he never got dropped. I reckon Barrett along with Bozo, Penn and the rest of the top heavy head office de-constructed our culture and high performance unit with a scorched earth effort and now they are reaping the rewards. Trent may not have been responsible for Toovey's sacking but he was for every other person like Donny Singe and Matai. He didn't orchestrate the whole thing but he was more than a willing accomplice and he knew full well what he was getting into when he signed a contract whilst Toovey was still coach and watched on knowing that whilst the Penns, Bozo and co made Toovey look like a fool on national TV having to fight off rumours on 360 and thinking he could actually keep his job. Like Forans ex mrs said it could be a touch of Karma.

If he does want out (I don't believe he does) then honestly what would we have lost?

Co-incidentally Des, Donny, Tooves, Crusher are all out of work at the minute.

In saying all that I am happy for him to carry on if he is committed to the cause, Im not sure his coaching staff are much chop though.
