Val Holmes .... Myth ?

Here is the thing that I see with Holmes playing fullback.

He's not the talkative type who organises the defensive line. He also doesn't backup like good fullbacks do. The Cows made a number of breaks on Thursday night, and most of the time Holmes was nowhere to be seen. Turbo, Tedesco, RTS, Gutho, Pap, Dufty, Isaako, even Mitchell would have all been there in support of the player making the break (if they hadn't actually made the break themselves), making that extra player. But Holmes was usually back somewhere behind the line playing hopscotch.

The problem for the Cows is that like Manly beyond Turbo, they don't really have a fullback and Holmes is probably the best alternative they've got.

Sorry but for mine he's an out of position winger when playing fullback. That's not to say he's not a great player because with the 5 or 2 on his back and playing out by the sideline, he is a great winger. But he's only a backup fullback at best despite what he thinks.
