Waddell looks a positive

Very impressed with his defence and energy - especially when the team was struggling and playing in tough conditions. Looks good and definitely ahead of JetSki.

We were amateurish in the first half, but in the last 30 minutes I think a lot of our guys realised they could compete with players-of-bulging-paypackets.
I think we will gain some confidence from that.
Regaining our main attacking weapon, Turbojet, can't come quickly enough. We simply don't have enough class in the backline. Another big than you to Walker here!
Also, getting back our most dominant forward, AFB, will be a huge boost.
All in all I am taking some positives from the loss to Easts who really should have lapped up. I guess they will just have to buy some more Internationals.

I have given jetski a chance.
He's out of chances.
Adds nothing.
And Blacktown should be his final resting place while he's with us.

JetSki is plain ordinary.A classic case of confusing everyready bunny manic running and arms tackling with actual ability. He is a sitting duck for good defenders and he gets hammered a lot. And he thinks he can kick...

Waddel on the other hand is a footballer not an athlete. Really like his stuff.

With your call on this....he actually plays footy unlike a robot and could be a quality player down the track
As for Jetski - actually thought he played real tough today.....not great- but tough
Will give respect to his efforts but feel Waddell will be ahead in the pecking order straight up

I agree Waddell looks like a great find he never shirked it and will be in the starting side before long. I know some on here bag JetSki however I thought he was strong. Yep he has the odd brain explosion such as the kick and the high shot however he is all heart and never gives an inch. You must remember he hasn’t played that many NRL games and has a lot to learn. I like him on the bench as he has some X factor he just needs to cut the rubbish out of his game.

Actually, I thought Sipley was another positive...seemed to take it as his personal responsibility to get right up in Warea-hargreaves’ face all night, and didn’t look out of place. plus that offload for Fainu’s try, with three players hanging off him. Way ahead of “fair-weather Perrett”...

Exactly. If we can add a centre with the compensation then get walker back all of a sudden we have a star backline.
Chez Elgey
(Aitken) walker
Suli Garrick
Turbo

I’d sacrifice the experience thommo brings for birthing someone who may just be able to play footy better than him at this stage of their careers.

Replacing experience with hunger is a necessary step in the recycling of a squad.

Thompson is a known quantity and in my opinion is just coasting. Waddell may just bring more to the table at this point. It would also give Thompson the rocket he needs and puts the run on team on notice.

Pick and stick coaching breeds loyalty but also fosters complacency

With Fainu .. we did look better .. but remember he had a dryer track ... and that was only Api's 2nd run since a broken foot. plenty of improvement yet ..

Fainu has a great future ... but I would hold off annointing him just yet ....
Too late, sorry - the masses have spoken, and he’s now our latest great hope.

When we were really firing back during the match against the Roosters it appeared as though Taupau was playing and defending more toward the edges, and Waddell seemed more toward the centre of the field. Dunno if intentional here although I’d like to see Taupau to second row, Jake Trbo to prop and Corey Waddell to lock. Then upgrade Saunders and have him eventually push Sipley/Gosiewski out of the side. Waddell and Saunders are two very tough, “leads by example” forwards. Then again Sipley had some enthusiastic runs that showed he also has some passion

I think it’s a no brainer to push Api either into the bench or out of the side. Fainu earned a spot
